If you're playing for Brentwood, a move to Southend is geographically easy whereas a move to Halifax isn't. That will probably be a factor too. If we have one coming in, we need to move one out - and as Waldron never gets a game I'm guessing its him.

He was at Brentwood aged 12 then got a move to Southampton, then Forest Green before returning to Brentwood in 2021.

2022-23 he headed to Coggeshall Town then ended the season playing for Herne Bay before rejoining Brentwood fir the 2023-24 season.

Maybe Brentwood and/or player declined any interest prior to the window opening - keeping their options open.

Always need to try and see things from both sides.

Good question. We did the same with Danny Waldron last year when he joined from National League North side Rushall Olympic.

Are we still operating believing we're in the EFL?

Both Hopper and The Brentwood lad sounds similar signings to Bonne and Moncur. Surely there are better options out there? Hopper isn't going to score goals and the brentwood lad it's a big step up so will take time which I don't think Maher has.

I would love to see Danny given the chance to prove himself with us. I get that we don't see him in training, blah, blah, blah, just give the guy a start and see what happens - sub him at half time if needs be, just give him a decent number of minutes.

No truth in rumours linking Blues to an Aveley midfielder

Saw this lad play for Aveley a few weeks back but I don’t particularly remember him. He certainly didn’t stand out as too good for that level. In fact, none of the Aveley team looked remotely on our level.

I’m not close to the detail but to counter was there no activity from other national league clubs strengthening their team during sep - Dec

Yeah because he's likely to choose National League over the Championship.

To put another spin on it, how bad is Waldron in training if he still can’t get a game in front of the others?

Personally, I’d give him a go and see what happens.
