If you can hold up a ball upfront then our sloth of a midfield can actually move up and support, Miley for one we know can slot away a ball on the edge of the box IF he can prise himself away from the halfway line, as can Coker. Even Husin had enough chances to knock in a few before Xmas. That was when Pepple arrived and before he started turning his man on a roll off the shoulder affair. So yes to Hopper. KAF is another one that can directly link the strikers, have an overlap himself (but Kev dont think he's strong enough to withstand the likes of Barnet mobsters and chooses Husin)
Kendal would be a good spoil for Hopper, ransacking defences next to him. Our defence is a damn sight better than post Kensdale and doesnt give too much away (obv not inc set pieces right now) so we can recycle the ball, drop those midfielders back and start over with possession. Can that beat a foraging Forest Green? Probably not but if Gus or Bridge actually producing down the wings you have a chance. A big bully boy of a central midfielder completes the set frankly. We dont want poor Hopper have to run back for every corner.

At least Hopper didnt leave for Col U. I'd forgive him. Need a good hose down first.

So much for going for younger players instead Kevs once again going down panic avenue and signing Tom.

Much like Bonne and Moncur this will lead to failure avenue. Bout time someone asked Justin what the hell is going on.

Carry on like this and season ticket numbers etc will tumble

BRENTWOOD Town hot-shot Danny Ogunleye has been training with Southend United, Echosport understands.

The 23-year-old has hit the back of the net 27 times already this season including two against the Shrimpers in the FA Trophy last month.

And the forward's fine form has now attracted interest from elsewhere, including Blues.

Shrimpers boss Kevin Maher and his coaching staff have been running the rule over Ogunleye in training but the forward is also expected to train with fellow National League side Halifax Town this week.

There is also interest from a League Two side.

The forward, who is the top scorer in Isthmian North this season, was with Forest Green Rovers before joining Brentwood.

For this to get reported I guss a deal is on the cards. All of a sudden Hopper and Ogunleye gives a different outlook- one experience palyer tp press, create, bring others into the game alongside someone who knows where the onion bag is..

Sounds like he will go wherever the money is, unless he wants to stay local
