Post-Match Thread and Ratings York City 3-0 Southend United

I wonder how Currie & Bentley feel, being associated to an team that playing dull and boring football, as Kevin Maher look like an 1 trick pony and always play the ****ty 5-3-2 formation that don’t suit the whole of the team. 4-3-3 is our best formation and it’s SUIT our players we have now, it’s will allow us to attack and pin the opposition back, we might actually score a goal too!!

There are good managers are waiting to get back into the games, with an idea to play attacking football, that suit our players strengths.

Maher, we love you as a player and the first 3 season as manager, but 6 wins in 23 games and we cannot score and cannot defend either. It’s time to go ….

The abuse that the three amigos are getting on here is in contrast to what happened at the stadium where they got nothing at final whistle. It was interesting to see York, a team at the top of the league, who move the ball forwards with much greater urgency than we do.
As I’ve been saying all season, we are tactically unimaginative and still playing Jack Bridge at left-wing back three years after he was any good there. It has been a long time since he would “tear you apart again “
To move this forwards, Maher is going to have to rebuild his own side, and get rid of a lot of the players who served him so well in the dark days. Not many managers do manage to rebuild their own side, and I don’t see Kev being one of them. That’s why, whilst we owe him so much the last few years, he needs to go because if he stays, we’re staying in this league.
I don’t usually like going down the route of ex players when selecting a manager, but Neil Harris would have us kick our way out of this league in no time. It might be a bit ugly, but it would be effective. We should be mindful that he is available.

Players good. Coaching bad.
Hogwash, the players, in particular the midfield are nowhere near good enough. I’m a massive Maher advocate but for me he needs to invest in quality in January otherwise I may well end up on the bandwagon. A commanding centre half (NONE of ours are good enough), some real quality in midfield and wingers that can actually run defence ragged and then deliver qualify.

Cant see Maher being sacked as the new board have given him the green light with a lengthy contract. However if Maher decides he can't do anymore will he walk.
The next two games against relegation fodder will be crucial anything less than that convincing performances then the pressure will be on Kev and his staff
