Apart from their horribly slow, cumbersome and user unfriendly website and their poor quality tv coverage of matches with constant buffering, freezing and going back to a previous sequence ad nauseam, DAZN have now given me another reason to heartily dislike them. I had a monthly pass originally with NLTV who were by no means perfect but compared to this lot seem a paragon of virtue. Today I received an email from DAZN advising me to update my payment details otherwise my sub would expire on Dec 8. When as requested I logged on to their site it told me my details were up to date and the next sub was payable on Jan 8! Have emailed their Customer Service address and await their reply. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

No but my experience of DAZN Has generally been vey good,Switched from NLTV when prompted (had signed up for a monthly sevice with them but demanded and got a refund)when the season pass was offered-Found DAzN a bit unwieldly at first (as did Yogi I believe)but it's fine now (touch wood)!

Sounds like my experience is the exception. Internet here is often subject to interruption and unexplained quirks usually blamed on Russian interference so maybe that side of it is not DAZN's fault but they have no excuse for admin cockups. Still waiting for a reply and with no streaming this weekend no need to panic I suppose.

Or it could be mine is! :Winking: While I accept fully that DAZN is a much higger outfit than NL TV (probably why they got the gig in the first place) I like the fact that I can go on their website, click on Buscar /find and get taken to the SU home page(which I set up) &be shown a list of our next 4 games to be televised, starting with the home game aginst Hartlpool in Dec.Nothing could be easier, really !Of course I'd be even happier if our Cup game at Brentwood were televised too (but that's hardly DAZN's fault). (I take your point about admin .**** ups BTW ,but as I said, I have no comparable experience on that score).

Graham James (school in Corringham) issued an email yesterday saying they are having to close for the rest of the week due to water issues. Turns out they have no hot water from their taps due to their boiler not quite functioning correctly. Still has heating, just no hot water.

My KS1 children will therefore be learning some CASS regulations, liquidity management and a sprinkling of ETL developer coding for their home schooling.
School closed for a further week.

I went in there today. Heating is fine, cold water is fine. Just no hot water from the taps.

Any school governors around that can confirm the rule that a school has to close if it has no running hot water. Because the school
"follow the legal guidance around health and safety for the children and staff and are restricted by these measures."

Incredible how times have changed. At Belfairs, we had the 70s power cuts. No heating, no hot water and freezing cold showers after sports lessons, even when it was minus degrees. We did lessons with our coats on, and it was still bitterly cold one winter. The schools just carried on, despite the pupils and staff suffering.
Nowadays, they can shut a school just for having no hot water.

I could understand if it was the heating but I went into the school today to pick up my sons nativity costume (it's too small so needed to swap it) and was met by the groundsman. He opened the school up and I was met with a wall if heat so no issues with the heating.

What's wrong with washing hands in cold water. As long as soap is provided its effective at cleaning. You only really need hot water to clean off grease and I very much doubt KS1 or KS2 pupils will be getting greasy hands

watching South Africa vs England Women ODI cricket and the crowd zooms in on a gentleman wearing a certain football team''s shirt. guess what? yes a Liverpool one. I so dislike plastic fans. Maybe last year it would have been City (or even this May).

Jaguar cars. What have they done? They've wiped out their history and identity, and ignored their usual target car buyers. Their new woke design team could spell the end of Jaguar. The minimalist interior, oh dear. And yes, that is a brass bar going down the middle of the car, and is also on the doors. No back window or mirrors by the way. That grey section next to the seat is stone. These E.V.s are expected to be priced at just under £100,000, but with usual add-ons, will be over £100,000. Good luck with that Jaguar.

Who are Jaguars target car buyers? Bank robbers from The Sweeney? Arthur Daley? Middle aged men who can’t afford Italian sports cars?

Had my mobile command unit serviced a couple of weeks ago and the oil change warning notification has come on.

Chap at Castle Point Motors says it is almost certainly DPF related because I only use it to take the dogs for their walks.

As you asked, this is how it was, in Jaguars own words. Obviously they have a new target car buyer now, and this won't apply.

Have a Specific Target Market

The Jaguar car brand is synonymous with class, sophistication, and luxury. It is not a brand that is geared towards the masses; instead, the brand focuses its marketing efforts on a highly wealthy target market.

As a business, it is essential that you have a specific target market instead of trying to reach out to everyone. This will enable you to truly tailor your marketing efforts and appeal specifically to your exact target audience.

Refine your Marketing Strategy

A Jaguar Car is a true status symbol – a symbol of sheer success. As such, the company does not have many showrooms and dealer outlets and there is no mass distribution in place. Instead, its power lies in its promotion and product quality rather than on distribution.

Jaguar has a very refined marketing strategy. Instead of adopting countless marketing strategies, it chooses instead to concentrate on what it’s famous for: the quality of its vehicles. Instead of making itself easily available, Jaguar lets the car do all the talking, focusing on the sheer excellence of this brand, as well as other qualities such as:

  • · Stylishness
  • · Fun to drive
  • · Safe
  • · Secure
  • · High performance
  • · Highest quality
  • · Technologically advanced

Precise Advertising

Over the years, Jaguar has produced numerous memorable advertisements that aim to attract the attention of the super-rich. The adverts also aimed to focus on the fact that owning this car brings a great deal of pride and exclusivity.

Some of Jaguar’s most recent campaigns aim to show the superiority of this brand against its competitors, such as Mercedes-Benz, Audi and BMW. The adverts were designed to show people that this is a fast, elegant and powerful car that still maintains its British roots. Simply put, no other car can be compared to this internationally renowned British luxury car brand.

I think Jaguar sales are suffering, so a rebrand was in order. But in truth the whole car market is in trouble. Not sure who exactly they are targeting but the phrase go woke go broke comes to mind. But who knows it could change their fortunes

Parked at Fairheads car park for an hour, purchased a Southend parking pass and added an hour parking. Came out of the Sea life centre to find a ticket on my car.

Stupidly hadn't selected my car on the parking option but instead my wife's car which is sat outside our house in Stanford-le-Hope.

:Dunce:

Have you the monthly pass?

I make that mistake on occasion but have always got away with it. I'd have liked to assume the software/operators would be smart enough to be able to see cars linked to an account in this scenario, but seems not.

Probably worth appealing, but don't pay the fine beforehand. I pulled a ticket at the Sealife carpark because I couldn't get a signal to use the app. I paid the fine first and they told me I couldn't appeal because I had paid the fine!!

Yes got the monthly pass which i purchased shortly after parking. Then selected an hour and headed into the Sealife centre.

On my account I have my wife's car, my parents car and my old car. My new car, which I drove there today and got the ticket wasn't added until I realised my mistake.

Will appeal and have to hope they cam see twas a genuine error. I purchased 2 hours parking by the pier shortly after to allow the little ones some time in the soft play using the correct reg.
