Bloody engineering works on the C2C.

Currently in football kit freezing my *** off at Stratford following a DLR diversion via Limehouse.

The mug in the fake Barbour quilted jacket with a Leyton Orient crest embroidered on the breast who spent last night's train journey swearing and talking about the women in his office in base terms.

My kids school, they have got a new teacher in the new year as the one they had for the first half was just a stand in. She was a really good teacher (even though she normally teaches a lot older kids) and now their new teacher doesn't seem to spend much time in the class, she keeps palming them off to other teachers as she is busy doing other 'stuff'. My son needs consistency and what's even more annoying is they aren't pushing my daughter who is extremely bright but they just give her really simple homework, as for reading they don't even bother with her, she is reading Enid Blyton books without trouble. And they wonder why they were put in special measures.

So, is their "new" teacher, really a "new" teacher, i.e. is she newly qualified? If she is then she is entitled to a day off a week as part of the transition from being a Newly Qualified Teacher to being a Teacher during that NQY year. Let me assure you that they day "off" is not really "off", she will be in school and doing research, training, planning, being mentored and a whole host of other stuff that will help make her a good teacher. Each teacher is also entitled to what is known as PPA time (Planning, Preparation and Assessment), this is often managed as a year group and the school will normally arrange for something like recorder or maybe swimming lessons to be delivered to the children at this time by specialist teachers from outside. Where I worked, one year we had one of the SUCET coaches come in and spend two terms coaching football in year 5 for boys and girls!

You say your boy needs consistency, well, I can identify with that because the children I often worked with were the same. That is down to the school to handle. If he can't cope with it then they may, with your agreement remove him into another classroom or environment where he feels comfortable while these sessions go on. Girls often seem far ahead of where they should be, encourage it at home but don't put pressure on. She will be encouraged in class, and she will be tested....schools are supposed to run intervention groups which not only support less able or behaviourally challenged children but also some which stretch the more able. Again, with the year 5s I worked with I was delivering a Level 5 English lesson to 4 children who were above the national average for the end of year 6.

If I remember correctly, they are still both Infant age. This is really quite early days, and don't forget that in many European countries, they wouldn't even have started formal learning yet. If you do have any concerns though do make an appointment to go and see their teachers, and if you're still not happy, one to see the Head.

I have recently had the same conversation with a work colleague, about their daughter in a similar situation to yours. Sometimes making too much of a fuss can cause the child anxiety so please, don't question her too much about what's going on or she will become anxious because what she tells you makes you angry.

As it goes I am pretty hacked off with having urticaria, which has been going on since Monday morning, new rashes popping up all over the place, which, this evening, has turned my top lip into a proper trout pout top lip! Flippin' uncomfortable all round but hopefully the steroids I got from the doc tonight will kick in overnight.

And during the night the bottom lip came out in sympathy, honestly, can't even drink a cup of tea without dribbling!!! :'(

I am off to the dentist this afternoon for a molar extraction. Hour booked, injections, cuts either side and out it should come BUT x-rays show deep roots.
I believe it may hurt a tad; and it will cost too.

I had an extraction a couple of years ago. When I was told to book one by my dentist (who is young and petite) she said it would probably be her colleague who would do it. I went along to have the tooth out and the dentist was a 6'5" beefcake South African. I understood why she'd let him do the extractions. Popped out no problem!

I had my wisdom teeth out a few years back. The actual extraction didn't hurt at all. The wounds hurt a bit for a few days, maybe even a week, but after that all was fine.

Interestingly, the dentist took the teeth out, but didn't stitch the holes that were left. He just advised me to keep them clean and make sure no food got stuck in there. Within a day or two the gums started to collapse in on themselves, thus closing the holes naturally.

Hope all goes well, and hope the above reduces your anxiety somewhat.

I had an extraction just before Xmas and my dentist is young and petite. She didn't have a big South African colleague and did it herself (lower double one past crowning). An hour's worth of tugging and wiggling followed, and it really bolloxed my sinuses for a week afterwards. Don't worry MG, I'm sure yours will be easy peasey, good luck mate.

I got one of those e-cig things this lunchtime freshly loaded with vanilla flavoured stuff. Within 20 minutes of owning it, I contrived to open the liquid chamber instead of the charging bit and spilt all the liquid all over my pc. The entire office now stinks of maple syrup. Sigh. You bloomin’ kids and your new-fangled technology, I should have bought a pipe.

Have you bought that to quit smoking? Because people seem to buy these as a fashion statement or they like the taste of Redbull smoke. I have met a few people who have bought these and have never smoked.

Standing out in the cold furtively puffing on something that looks like Sooty's magic wand isn't my idea if a fashion statement.
