What have you watched on TV?

Loving Call The Midwife, excellent.

Birdsong was a VERY slow adaptation of a book I can't really remember reading, but good stuff.

I thought it was very good, I like anything to do with WW1 and NO not because I was there before you start...I have to say though I may be slightly bias here, although I can't think why.

Watched two of the three charlie brooker things and didnt like at all, also gave the curb hour thing a go and not one laugh for me or the wife, the weekends are so dire for tv.

Anyone else see First we take Manhattan on Beeb 4 last night? For those who didn't this was a biopic on David Bailey and Chrissie Shrimpton's affair in the early 6o's.Beautifully done and extremely well acted, IMO.

One Born Every Minute was beautiful on Wednesday - the disabled woman was an absolute bundle of joy and their baby was as sweet as sugar. I wish them every happiness.

God I've turned into a woman :stunned:

Anybody see Noel Fielding's Luxury Comedy last night? Seemed stilted and forced at times (the lion), other times it was brilliant (pele, mr. cache). He has a brilliantly bonkers mind. Made me pine for the Mighty Boosh and Howard's Jazz interludes.

Didn't see it, but Fielding's solo panelshow work has made me think that Julian Barrett must be a comedy genius.

I thought that as moving art it was excellent but as comedy a lot less good. I would have happily watched it with the sound off. Picked up though and as you say the Pele sketch was genius. The quality of the music in the Boosh definately came from Barratt (seen him in the audience at an Accoustic Ladyland gig - I refuse to believe their drummer and Naboo aren't brothers and Noel was adopted).

Saw a double bill of films on the box last night. The Last of the Mohicans and Sleepers.First time I'd seen either of them and I must say I found them both well worth watching.

Being Human - Oh. My. God.
  Spoiler:
Yes, the "tricking the body into thinking it was a full moon" thing could be seeen as dodgy, but A) there's plenty of lore that says Lycanthropy can be controlled similarly, and B) aren't there 3 nights of a full moon per cycle anyway? Besides, who the hell cares? Russell Tovey on a Roaring Rampage to get his kid back - the only one I've seen better than that was A Good Man Goes to War (Sorry Whitman, but blowing up an entire Cyberman fleet to make a point takes a lot of beating)
T

Top Gear - How the mighty have fallen. I wanted funny after Being Human. I got one use of the Team America soundtrack, and may getting kicked in the 'nads. Even JOEY wasn't funny! (Also, bugger me he's getting old - have you seen his hair?!)
