Transfer News and Gossip Transfer Rumours Thread 2024/25 - Time to Cook 👨‍🍳

Transfer news
Unfortunately I won’t be giving out names, you can believe me or not it’s up to you but I assure you there is plenty of players on the white board, some youngsters some more experienced
Hi Henry, sorry wasn’t asking for names nor doubting your knowledge! I was asking if there are any players on there that will excite the fans?

Cant believe people are already writing Waldron off, I hope if he reads any off this he will go out this season and make everyone of you eat humble pie, i believe he could be our jack in the box once he finds his feet .He gets an early goal or two he will be right. Its a big step up from part time football to fully professional football give him time .

Just for the record you won’t have been sitting in the North Bank unless you were an Accrington fan and Britt played no role in keeping us up under Luggy in 2010/11 - he joined on loan two years later for the 2012/13 season when we were in no relegation difficulty (this was the season after the floodlights failure at Aldershot cost us automatic promotion). He did however play a role in getting us to our first Wembley final scoring one goal in six appearances in the JPT that season.

Anyway back to transfer rumours…
My bad. So many years of s**t you forget which year was which. That was actually a good year 🤦🤣

I distinctly remember being in the north though. As we often did under Luggy. I remember the Crawley match when AC Milan fans were in there with us.

As you say, back on topic. Announce Tshimanga!

when they say he aint good enough and we only playing friendlies at present and he got limited time as he had a knock yeah that to me his not good , tell me in all these friendlies how many played to their full potential ,it was all about getting them some fitness, At least people can wait until we at least 10 games into the season and players have had an opportunity to show the real worth before becoming judgemental.

Is nobody allowed to have any critisism on here or perhaps discuss what they feel is a player's shortcomings without them being labeled as making the player a scapegoat?

Anyway back on topic.
There was no discussion on his shortcomings; one poster "knew he wasn't good enough as soon as I saw him". Hardly anything to discuss there?
We have had more than a few, strikers especially, who felt full disdain of the Hall experts after just a few touches; some showed them to be wrong, (BBBC) others had to leave to get game minutes (Bridge/Hooper) and show their value, AND others never showed (e.g. Coulthurst) even after 4 or 5 clubs.
Danny hasn't had long enough or opportunity, to warrant the negativity imo.

I predict he will have lots of game time and will score goals!

Massimo has already pretty much answered this, but you could add the sending him out on loan to the comments made so far.

Anyway just discussing how I feel 😉

Agree with both sides. He didn’t look good enough at times last season, at other times he looked the part. He said himself that the change to daily training/training the day before a match, he struggled with. Either way, let’s see him this season and all cheer him on to settle and to get more occasions where he looks the part.

Thank you … saying you don’t rate something or someone seems to be some sort of ‘hate crime’ on this board … shock horror football fan thinks one of his teams players are **** … it’s hardly going to define the guy

Jack Spong from Worthing looks like the sort of player who could be on the whiteboard.

22 year-old midfielder and ex-Brighton academy player of five years, so he’s got good pedigree. Has EFL experience with 5 games on loan to League Two Crawley in 2023. Signed for Worthing last season after Queen’s Park (Scottish Championship) mutually terminated his contract in January where he’d made 21 appearances. Made 12 appearances for Worthing, with 4 goals and 5 assists to his name. Fairly technical and a set piece specialist.

We watched Worthing quite a few times last season I believe. So I wonder if he might be on our radar. He certainly looks like a Kev/Still sort of player on paper.

I think we need to either commit or quit with Tshimanga this week. 2 more in before the week is through and i'd go into the season happy and confident.

Why?

We don’t have a transfer window until the third Thursday in March. The EFL window shuts end of this month. If Tshimanga is still at Posh, our negotiating position is stronger in September then it is now…

Our squad come Saturday will not be the same squad that finishes the season.

Agreed, our chances in signing players on loan from EFL clubs increases massively. Even if it is just a short term loan.
