Too busy begging Ryan Reynolds for a teams call about “how to be a good owner in the national league” this is the same bloke ‘supercharging’ a data driven approach to recruitment. What a shambles we’re dealing with.Shivaas is
because clubs see our style of play side ways backwards etc and probably dont want toput there young lads with potential to suffer it.Thank goodness for that as heading towards nearly 3 deals a day having been concluded in January so far
Apparently loans are difficult as you have to sit back and wait to be contacted by the loaner club, although 26 have been completed in two and a half weeks.
So either nobody likes us or we are not daring, Courageous spirited or enterprising in this market?
Also Another 10 loan spells have been extended by clubs
Plus 7 permanent singings have also been made in that timeframe ( 3 for fees and 4 free transfers)
Dont worry though perhaps proper DD wasnt done on that lot and all 43 will show no quality
I am confused as to why we are so slow or seemingly undetermined to really get more adventurous in the loan market 26 new transfers in as loans tends to support that proposition?
Football Manager 2025 is on offer for £36.89Apparently we are in final negotiations with a Data Analyst..
I don't see that as true at all. We've just had a young loanee be our star man. We're also playing Golding at CB and just played another teams GK instead of our own. Players definitely get chances here. We've also signed the likes of Powell, Gus, Kensdale and Cardwell that were all from lower leagues who were given lots of game time.I’d imagine there are plenty of young players in lower divisions looking at us and thinking Nah… I won’t get a game and won’t be given a chance.
Almost none of the best longer-term NL teams play like this, which surprised me when we got here too. Bromley were an exception. York and Barnet are proper footballing sides, but they have the hard-nosed, streetwise side of the game sorted too. They don't regularly concede from set pieces, for example. The ones who don't play as much football tend to be the ones who came down more recently (Oldham, FGR) who keep the physicality up.It makes you wonder what you need to get promoted from the National league, is it the big guys playing long ball stuff or the more cultured midfield players, creating chances for the forwards. Last saturday I feared the worst, Bromley are a big team in terms of stature they had Cheek and Kabamba up front and we knew they would try to batter us with long balls launched at our defenders. In the end they hardly had a sniff, we scored an early goal (Should have had a couple more!) and shut them out. 1 shot on target in a game of 100 minutes tells it's own story.
That's why I said that I would not apportion blame for Saturday. I simply don't have the full facts in order to come to a answer for that performance. There's something going on that we're not privy to and I imagine It will come out in the fullness of time. For the moment we struggle on painfully.Something just does not add up to me. Kev cannot be that stupid not to see we need players in. Are his hands tied, his demands to much, none of it makes sense as there must be players out there atm that would help in our dire situation, even if just on loan.
And potentially feeding the management team to the baying mob of 1300 angry fans come 4:45 Saturday afternoon. That's where I do have bit of sympathy for Maher as he hasn't exactly been backed during the transfer market. Not signing a creative midfielder and a striker before Dagenham for me would give a pretty clear indication that COSU are writing off this season

Thanks, I assume you are ITK ? Appreciate ANY sort of update from a trustworthy sourceLook, we are working on it, but it’s difficult. It has to be the right player and the right temperament. Things take time and January is not always the easiest month to get players in. We are constantly working but nothing is close yet
Well COSU so far have kept or are working on the promises made at the Cliffs. One thing Justin didn't promise was promotion this season. The Club is being rebuilt from the bottom up. Justin spoke about a sustainable Football Club and to achieve that we have to get to the EFL. This will enable the Academy to reopen COSU know that. They have budgeted to make a loss in each of the next 5 years, it has been suggested that the deficit will be around £2 million for this season. Not signing a creative midfielder and a striker before Dagenham for me would give a pretty clear indication that COSU are writing off this season
I know @Flinty - I think he was rolling out the stock answer in an ironic fashionThanks, I assume you are ITK ? Appreciate ANY sort of update from a trustworthy source
If so, get a manager that play entertaining football, then we can accept midtable finish, rather than a dull defensive 5-3-2 formation and play backwards football.Well COSU so far have kept or are working on the promises made at the Cliffs. I did part read an interesting article in the I Paper last week. Wycombe Wanderers now have a very wealthy owner and he also vowed to rebuild the Club from the bottom up. The first major improvement a new and fully equipped Training Ground.
They are certainly more than happy for him to take all the heat it seems whilst maintaining radio silence….Or in other words…COSU are taking the **** and hanging him out to dry.
I certainly wont be part of a baying angry mob at Daggers, win lose or abandoned i'll be supporting the boys. My passion for Southend Utd rivals anyone on here (in my mind) and i turn up to support or stay quiet at the final whistle if i'm ****ed off at what i witness. Totally pointless slagging my club at the match. And potentially feeding the management team to the baying mob of 1300 angry fans come 4:45 Saturday afternoon. He is still doing, what he thinks is right, to get us in the play offs.If so, get a manager that play entertaining football, then we can accept midtable finish, rather than a dull defensive 5-3-2 formation and play backwards football.
