Surely we've been looking at Charlie Warren at Felixstowe who are top of the Isthmian North

In all comps has played 37 games, scored 26 goals and apparently has 20 assist and only 20 years old. Just one goal behind Daniel Ogunleye in all comps

Perhaps if we had a B team we would have signed him by now.

Yes we have, we've been staring at the data for around 8 weeks, still unsure.

Whether Maher has been backed or not. This squad are better than what theyve shown this season. there are so many players off it at the moment yet he keeps picking the same players. I can take losing a football match, but the manner of defeat Saturday was alarming and the lack of fight was there for all to see. We hardly laid a glove on a Barnet side who hadnt won in 5 games. I dont agree that this squad is light on quality. Weve seen enough of these players this past few years to know they are good for this level. The likes of Morton, Wind, Keenan, Waldron arent being given a fair crack at it either. We are not a good side at the moment but sometimes just simple tweaks make a difference but Mahers persistence of keep playing Miley, Noor, Bridge, Gus to name four is bizarre to say the least. Im a huge Morton fan and for me this season has been our best midfielder and his partnership with Coker is probably the best of the midfield. Morton on here has regularly got glowing reviews and in some matches MOM yet Maher has him in and out the team. I spoke to his wife on Saturday and she said he is very down as works hard in training does everything required yet gets over looked.

I watched Everton yesterday ( i have a soft spot for them through my dad). The football under Dyche was dreadful, backwards, sideways, not scoring goals, trying to win games 1-0 or draw 0-0 away etc. Moyes comes in and in one week gets them playing on the front foot, moving the ball quicker, less passes etc and the result they went after Spurs and were 3-0 up at HT. Theyve now scored 18 goals in the league this season, a sixth of them came yesterday. the point is that its the same squad of players but a slightly different approach from a new coach has made a difference.

Do we need to ad to the squad of course we do, its small in comparison to other NL teams however i dont believe it will change the way Maher chooses to play and set up. Its so engrained in the squad now that its hard to change. Moncur the first few games looked lively and maybe change things moving forward. in the matter of weeks he went into his shell and we never saw much positive from him. he goes off to Ebbsfleet and by all accounts is playing some great football and already scored 2 goals in 3 games. Is that coincidence?

If we play at Dagenham this Saturday like we did this weekend we will likely lose and by a similar score line. Kev and the players then have to walk back towards and under the stand that we will be housed in. Im not one for throwing abuse, i dont see it achieves much but there will be many that will and i wont blame them if they choose to do so.
One of the best logical things ive ever read on here

All 3 of them players mentioned on our doorstep.!! Charlie warren is what we need as well, a left winger.!!

Would like to have seen us gone in for Harvey Sayer at Lowestoft. Has just turned 22 and scored 17 in 27 games according to the Lowestoft website. I’d imagine he’ll have a fair few assists too.

They play in Step 3, Southern Premier Central. One league higher than the previously mentioned Charlie Warren and Daniel Ogunleye.

Was definitely on our radar last season. I presume he still is.

The number of crosses arriving is ok the problem is that we have very few strikers or midfielders taking the gamble of running into the danger areas anticipating the incoming cross.
How would anyone anticipate the cross coming in , as gus plays it in as early as possible and Bridge does the fandango ...

Doesn’t sound like the Brentwood striker will be joining us… been told he has better offers from other NL clubs and EFL clubs with a view to him being loaned out to step 2 for the second half of the campaign.

That is, it’s not a surprise that Maher lose the dressing room. It’s an disgrace to leave Morton on the bench and keep picking 3 useless midfielders together.

We need a new manager with different approaches going forward and I reckon we will be enjoying our football, win or lose.
How do you know Kev has lost the dressing room, Murkey? Is that a fact?

No shock there!

I actually think it’s not a good move for the player or club. He’s 23 and would be stepping up 3 leagues, he wouldn’t be first choice and wouldn’t get a sniff at all under the current management.
Greedy agent and an ill advised player. However, he is one bad tackle away from that opportunity not coming around so I do understand.

Almost none of the best longer-term NL teams play like this, which surprised me when we got here too. Bromley were an exception. York and Barnet are proper footballing sides, but they have the hard-nosed, streetwise side of the game sorted too. They don't regularly concede from set pieces, for example. The ones who don't play as much football tend to be the ones who came down more recently (Oldham, FGR) who keep the physicality up.

Notts County decided to be a pretty footballing team for years down here without sorting out the set-pieces/ physical side of things, and stayed here for years as a team of brutes always knocked them out of the play offs (e.g. Grimsby in our first season back).

We need to sign 4 players who will not lose duels in the spine of our team. 2 of them need to be centre backs, 1 in midfield, 1 up front. Whilst we continue with our model of signing ball-players who are small or weak, we'll be stuck here forever.
Agree. It would be easy to say we need .. then list some of our best ever players like Leonard, Gower, Eastwood, Prior, Stan etc. Of course we’d love players of such quality but in this league we’d be better served with a strong spine and tenacious types, dare I say at times a controlled nastiness / street smarts who know the dark arts. Oh how we miss players in the mold of a Barrett / Mohsni, a Timlin / McCormack and a Corr / Fortune
