Transfer News and Gossip Transfer Rumours Thread 2024/2025.

Transfer news
If there is any substance to the rumours of a possible return of Cards then presumably the data does not have to be scrutinised because the committee has all the evidence necessary from his time with Blues. Or is that a too simplistic view?

I don't think we have anybody coming in soon, not to say we are not trying.
There was a suggestion that a number of our targets may be a little unrealistic. Not a problem being ambitious. I do worry the players our new process identifies are the same as other clubs identify- and there is our overriding desire to find “value” whereas other clubs are less “reticent”. When put together it makes your post very pertinent…

Does anybody ITK actually know if we are in talks with any potential signings?
Don’t need to know any names, but just need some reassurance that we as a club are active. TIA
Why on earth would we not be?

We know that John Still and the scouts watch loads of games. We know that KM wants to strengthen the squad. We know that 2 of our loanees have been recalled.

The EFL transfer window is here. Were are just 1/3rd of the way through it and we have been told that in January, clubs need to get replacements in before they release players. We can sign NL players anytime.

Everyone at the club will be doing their best to make things happen, but at our level there are so many factors that affect whether someone joins or not. One thing I can absolutely assure you that will NOT be happening is for everyone at the club to be sitting around aimlessly thinking "Oh well, something will turn up." They will be busting their guts to try and get something done.

On that basis, then we will be being active.

We wanted them, everyone was chuffed to bits when we got them and then decided to scapegoat them rather than admit that they are told to play terrible football because you can't blame Kev that would be obscene!

Whilst I have no doubt you were chuffed that we signed both of them, not everyone was. Some were more circumspect, some heeded Jonny Stokes’ warning on both players. But I’m sure it was also Maher’s fault both players stunk at their previous clubs and fans were so relieved to see them go.

That would be nice although 6 incoming would get us a bit closer to the average
January is not a great market. You'll pay over the odds and the players you can bring in tend to be the ones that aren't wanted by their current clubs.

Hence bringing in six new players in January would be pretty ill-advised long term. Clearly we need a couple but the better strategy would be to augment a couple of decent permanent signings with one or two decent loanees.

The summer is when to do business, we all know what happened there and we're still paying the price for the fruit-based soft drink.

The promised off the line striker analysis doesn’t appear to have landed yet, although said his #1 suggestion signed for another club yesterday

I get really pigged off by these terrible football comments. We are playing the same way as last season, when even you would admit we played rather well at times. Unfortunately we are missing 2 of the players that made it happen, Cardwell and Kensdale. I would say we are probably now at least 4 players short of what the squad needs, but I am sure those that matter are working hard to bring the right players to the Club.
Lower your expectations and you won't be disappointed. All that was promised by Justin at the Cliffs is happening slowly but surely.

See Sonny Bradley scored for Wycombe tonight. Didn’t Powell want him at some point? Just the kind of commanding and reliable CB that could have stopped us from spiralling.

Which would be fine- give up on this season. But could the Maher out brigade accept that’s a choice made by the owners and proceed accordingly?
