Transfer News and Gossip Transfer Rumours Thread 2024/2025.

Transfer news
It’s not a question of the number of midfielders- it’s the fact that we need better- better goal return, better assists, better driving forward with the ball, better at getting in the box. The list of things we don’t get from the current midfield is a long one. In part because we have too many who are similar and have found their level. Regrettably.

I believe Bonne will come good and the keyboards will be warmed up in the direction of someone else- guess Kendall is next in line so hope the both score tomorrow. Actually Waldron as well. That will create a dilemma….Personally I just don’t feel singling out specific players for endless criticism (in some lamentable cases from the stands) does any good or is positive.

In the end they are our players, have committed to the club and trying. And at the moment you would have to assume from the bare bones we have there is not a long queue of better alternatives kicking our door down…for whatever reason…

Does anybody ITK actually know if we are in talks with any potential signings?
Don’t need to know any names, but just need some reassurance that we as a club are active. TIA

Indeed. And your post prompted me to have a flashback to asking the guy who sits in front of me who the new tall guy warming up on the pitch pre-match was. His response:

"Stanley Collymore, apparently. A striker from Crystal Palace. Never heard of him".
Similarly for me at home to Watford in a top of the table game in 1977. Only when the team ran out did we realise we’d signed both Steve Yates and Gerry Fell. Simpler and better times.

Yes because the leaks are being plugged? You think we're not talking to anyone or looking at anyone and the whole football department are sat round a laptop looking at numbers?
Usually there are snippets even from Chris Phillips or sometimes Kev. There's been no mentions at all from any sources

There's been nothing from Chris Phillips because Kevin Maher doesn't tell him unlike what Phil Brown would do.

How else would a journalist find this info out? Leaks within the club, which has been said before, have been stopped.

So ultimately, CP probably knows as much about who were talking as you and I do.

Don't panic.

Maher himself said we are active in his press conference yesterday.

Doubt we'll be rushing anything through now though, unless we are desperate to bolster the match day squad ahead of an already postponed game

On the postive side, this gives us (Southend United) another week .......... and in that week players may be moving in the football league ........ and that may allow the release of some of our targets, yes?

We should all remember that Blücher's troops may have arrived late in the day but their contribution to victory at Waterloo was significant.

Excuse me? Are we about to sign some players from the Bundesliga?
