Worth bearing in mind it’s league games only the clause, not league and cup.
According to Transfermarkt he’s played in all 21 league games for Daggers this season - 3 more takes him to 24 which would seem to be as far as he/they can push it. Assuming no postponements, the 24th game would be at Ebbsfleet on New Year’s Day.

Can we assume there’s likely to be no movement until after that?

My understanding is the new director of football has said he doesn’t want the trigger of contract extension to happen as they are trying to cut back on wages. If EJ plays 5 more games the trigger happens. EJ naturally not happy
Surely, if the DoF and player DONT want the extension, then they can remove that? Unless someone else involved in the club wants it to happen, can't see why they couldnt mutually agree to remove it. Unless a new contract would need to be signed and for whatever reason cant?

EDIT: Think ive misunderstood, does Justham want the extension/payrise?

Maybe he doesn’t want the extension without the payrise - particularly if they’ve messed him around. I’d be pretty peeved with my employer if I’d honoured my contract, performed well and they didn’t want to give me what they had agreed to only a few months before.

In fact I’d chuck one in my own goal on Saturday if I were him

Yeah that makes complete sense, I understood it as EJ and DoF were both in agreement that they didn't want the extension.

Doesnt matter signing all of those unless you start to rebuild the midfield. Buying a striker but have no creativity is just madness. A creative centre mid and at least one winger with pace are desperately needed and have been all season.
So you'd sign player types in a particular order of priority and risk missing out on long term targets because, once you get to their position / profile, they've gone elsewhere?

Not saying that at all but there are plenty of wingers/wing backs and midfielders around and we have desperately needed them all season even on a loan until we find someone else. With Bridge, Husin etc this season we might as well have played with 9 or 10 men at times.

It doesnt even remotely feel like Maher is looking for these positions and he doesnt even give others a chance in these positions when certainly players have been well below par every single game this season.

I dont even think we have the right players to play the formation Maher wants to especially in midfield and that has been an immediate area of concern that we have needed to fix all season.

He is. He was in the summer too, hence the former QPR lad on trial, and ending up with Moncur.

I said all summer that Kev wants a creative midfielder.

Is he supposed to still it all over his social media that he is at X, Y, Z game to look at a player? Say every interview that he is looking for that? How does he make it look like he is looking?

As I say, John Still and his army are at 5/6 games a week, at all levels and ahead of groups, looking for players and building up that database.

.
The no 8 for Yeovil looked good, but I think maybe not a leader type.
Mancini at H/pool is very good BUT seemingly injury nightmare.
Kev is right to keep looking
