Joey Jones, a player we tried to sign before he went to Grimsby on loan, is going to Bromley. You heard it here first. Looks like Stilly didn't fancy going back in for him this time round...

They're also signing that idiot Callum Reynolds who celebrated like crazy in front of us when they played us off the park at their place.

Bromley have signed Adam Marriott too. I know a few on here wanted us to have a look at him. 18 goals last year.

I wonder if that means Cheek might be on the move. If not, they are really going after that top 6. They do really well baring in mind the size of the club. Always manage to assemble a good side.

Lopata and Neal would be great signings.....Gubbins, no thanks.
You must have only watched his first few games. Last 5 or 6 that he played, thought he was excellent and fitted the way that we want to play. Played and carried the ball out of defence really well and gave us real balance as a left-footer on the left hand side of that back three.

Totally agree. I thought he was a player with clear quality, and someone who added a certain level of class to our back line - definitely a bright future ahead of him considering he is only 20 years of age.

What is a bit worrying is the fact we are holding out in the transfer market in the hope these players will come back to us . So what happens if they dont has the so called targets we were looking at have gone to other clubbs .Or maybe the money is not there to stengthen any more than the two players brought in at the start of last month .

How do you know that this is fact? It takes time to get transfers over the line especially this time of year. Look at the quality of players bought in already, have faith in the management team to get it right. I doubt they would be so naive to put all their eggs in one basket. Things are happening and progressing with certain players, just be patient and give it time

Clearly we have talked to Sheff U and I would be amazed if we didn’t have a pretty good idea of where the players stand. I suspect there is a degree of encouragement on at least a couple of them and that is reshaping the thinking.

Lopata is the best of them and should be the least likely- except there are reasons to believe the player is very keen to come back. If Sheff U are open to discussing it (and not saying no his next step is a L1 loan) then who can blame Kev and team for sticking with it?

One i never said i know what is hapening with the transfers of any players .And two i dont trust our so called chairman .If you rember whem the three amigos camre in we was under an embargo .So why should we trust anything that comes out of chairman Rons mouth

I dont trust Ron at all, but i do trust Tom as the CEO and also the management and recruitment team to get it right. If you look at the likes of Kensdale, Cardwell, Powell, Husin, Wood, Miley and Mooney as a starting point they are all good signings. Just need to be patient and see what happens. As for your earlier comment you did say ' the fact we are holding out in the transfer market' so that suggested you do have some insight thats all. But lets see what happens

I don't think we should trust anything that comes out of Ron's mouth, but as far as I can see he hasn't actually said anything this summer regarding transfers.

Positive update Shrimpers.

A twist in the tale in the Louis Lomas saga:

I know Stan is on here, but perhaps KM is too... Appears KM has now spoken to Louis. Things have progressed immensely. Contract being sorted today. Likely to be travelling to Southend tomorrow or Friday, and will be announced once complete.

Looks like we won't be signing one of Gubbins or Lopata, but appears Louis will go into a back three with Hobson and Ralph. Imagine if Gubbins or Lopata come in, then Ralph could be pushed to LWB?

Told as well as Louis, the club wish to make a further 4/5 signings. Promising to hear that.

I think Ralphy's best position is LB/LWB anyway, his attacking threat is so good down the left, also a very good cover LCB too of course, I think it also gives grounds for Clifford to have some proper competition down the left and hopefully help his development a bit more.

London........"Told as well as Louis, the club wish to make a further 4/5 signings. Promising to hear that"

So splashing the cash on new players.......But what of the outstanding money (much needed wages) still owed to some of the staff?.
