TBF I think thats what the club were trying to do with Rutherford and Josh Kelly, and will hope they have done with Wreh. Not sure the whiteboard has too many viable options down that road left..regrettably.
I doubt that, I'm sure there is a decent sized list for those options, they either won't be available, we can't get them, or they just aren't ready. for the step up if they are from the lower leagues.

I'd say striker is one of the hardest positions to recruit for.

There’s definitely a few potentials in the Palace squad and the friendly would’ve been a great opportunity to have a closer look at a few. Rob Street seems like a good shout. Bit of a quiet loan spell with League Two Newport last season, scoring 2 in 18, so maybe Palace will be looking for him to join one of the better NL teams and get some goals under his belt.

People have stated that Hyde didn't want to come. I think it was more a case of his money dropping and getting the right deal from Wrexham and us to make sure its financially viable. If he stays fit he will score plenty I'm sure.
I'm not sure where people have got this from. I haven't seen anything from a reliable source that states Hyde doesn't want to come. Wrexham fans on Twitter don't count.

If the deal comes off will Wrexham be paying for part of Hyde's salary? I can't see us matching what he's currently earning.
This is what I've been mulling over, there is a chance of it since Wrexham were the ones that probably gave him a ridiculous wage in the first place.

This is the problem they will be causing other teams in the league.

I’m sure there must be permanent options from up rather than just down. League One/Two clubs are bound to have talented 21/22 year olds who haven’t had a shot at establishing themselves yet but are on the fringes of the first team.

It's a problem they are causing themselves too. Nobody will be able to afford to take players off their hands so they'll have to continue paying a large chunk of their wages just to move them on.

Am certain it will either be that Wrexham will pay some of his wages for the rest of the year or the fee will reflect the equivalent.

I’m more disappointed that it’s after 12 and we haven’t seen a social media teaser yet

Yep, to be fair, I wouldn't be surprised if there isn't a regulator in place in the future for these kind of things, but then again how do you regulate it. without putting a maximum wage in place for the league, its very difficult.

It’s wrexhams problem though. They are the ones committing to pay these salaries. To have players taken off their hands they will need to pay part. Or they have them playing for the third team on a few £££ per week.

That said, no idea what money Hyde is on. It’s probably not as much as for the players being teased out of the EFL

Am I the only one concerned that we keep talking strikers and yet the defence and central midfield look light
I'm not so sure on the midfield but definitely the defence, something makes me feel like we're holding out for Kasper regarding the defence because that's a much more easier role to recruit in, but then again we just be getting unlucky in our pursuit of players. - the embargo didn't help.

I agree we definitely need another centre half (preferably a leader) none of our defenders are natural born leaders which leads to mistakes in defence..... admittedly we have lomas who could end up being are Lopata from last season. Hobson shouldn't be anywhere near the first team, such a clumsy defender.

The problem we have, is we have Ralph as captain at the moment. He is not a CB! Yet he is required to lead and lead from a position that isn't natural. He is the one that needs to be led and told when to push out or press out wide. The man in the middle of the three should be doing that. Will Kensdale do that? I doubt it. The leader figure is definitely missing.
