A player we wanted. He was keen on the move, but a deal wasn’t agreed between us and Dorking.

He is on mega money, for this level, there. A key player for them. We looked into insurance etc for him due to his heart conditions, but with the step up to full time training for us, and then any potential return to the EFL, the money quoted was horrendous. Going from part time to full time, he was deemed as high risk on the insurance side of things.

You and I know I can't promise you that, and I don't think we are financially safe, far from it. My point was, and is, that you appear to grab every opportunity you can to wheel out the embargo banner. But it's about opinions and as you have dealt with Ron on a personal level I better not ask any more.

Absolutely agree with this. Played on the half turn looking for chances in the box, big and strong and decent in the air. Not much not to like I’d say.

Yeah. So if someone doesn’t go out on loan before the deadline, they can only move to non league in England.

Upgrade on Dalby?

Wouldn’t say upgrade but more direct and a different dimension to Dalby. Was strong up top, held the ball up but always looked to drive forwards with the ball. Headed goal was all about positioning, great Instinct and was unlucky not to score another.

I think there is a case for naming our embargos in rather the same way that The Met Office name storms, Arwen, Barra, Corrie, Dudley etc.

This would mean that instead of saying "embargo" or "umbongo", both of which seem to cause ill feelings, we could just say it's name.

This system would have the added advantage that we would know which particular embargo we were talking about at any one time.

If Hyde has gotten over his injury, Kev and team want him and he’s happy coming, is on a one year deal plus one year option on wages within our structure and we still get ~£100k plus sell ons then I’ll actually be quite pleased with it now the dust is settling.

We’re not going to find a better striker at this stage of the season on a perm, and as others have said many times he actually fits our style of play better than Dalby.

Intrigued to hear who this mysterious second player is though now.

If Hyde does come in it will be at some cost to his present club. For that reason I would guess that the chances of us being paid anything like 100K would be remote. My guess would be that sell ons might be about the best we can expect.
Just conjecture on my part, and, I would happy to be contradicted by anyone ITK.

Today we will announce the signing of Hyde and the next @StanCollymore who will fire the goals to achieve a new NL goals record in an unbeaten season during which Hyde will score the winner against Wrexham after Dalby misses a penalty. I’m not usually ITK but on this I have a reliable source.
