So come on then. We missed out on Kelly. What other suggestions do we have that fit into the decent NL striker category that we could realistically go for?

Cheek. I’d be more than happy with that. But I fear we won’t get near his wage demands.

Who else?
Morias at daggers?

Its starting to look bit desperate now. I would imagine the list of strikers on the white board has diminished due to possibly already secured moves elsewhere. The loan market is probably are best bet now.

This is the problem. So close to the season the selling club either won’t want to sell, or they’ll take the **** with the fee. Purely because it’s so difficult to get a like for like replacement in time.

Wreh I think is worth a risk he’s got better each game the only thing we don’t know is can do it consistently

Yep. I'm surprised we didn't have look at corrie Andrews, did half decent at aldershot and is at Torquay. Someone like him who young and hungry with pace would of been decent signing.

I hope I'm proved wrong but I think we've missed out on any proven goalscorer now. FFS
Wreh goals and assist levels were very high all be it a couple of levels down and he already has 2 and 2 in 3 games thus far. I bet if you were to ask Mooney he would be up for linking up with a guy that’s set up 2 goals for him in 3 games. Just looked it up he got 23 goals and 16 assists last season

At least we’ll be able to move on. With that in mind, I noticed that Michael Cheek was left out of the Bromley team on Wednesday causing much head scratching among both Bromley fans.
His dad on Shrimperzone know the answers, he could picked up an knocks & they wouldn’t risk him, although Bromley players are leaving left, right & centre.

Give it up on the crowd numbers @Murkey_Mouse, they mean absolutely nothing in the big picture of things. It's all really about how much the signing on fee is, how much wages there are and how long the contract is together with add ons. That's what pays the mortgage and gives a degree of security to a very fragile profession. Large crowd numbers are garnish which is nice to have once the basics are sorted.
Ask Mooney, our crowds is an factor why he joined us. I am sure Kelly be happy to wave at 20 fans at Maidstone Utd.

Cheek would be awesome.

Maybe a little bid for Dallas from Solihull now they have Kelly…?

If we are continue with a 3 up front we need another Caldwell type player…Dalby isn’t that and fits, for me, better in a 2. Not sure who is out there to play that role for us ?

As much as I’d have liked to get Kelly spending big money would be ludicrous in our current state. Until we are financially stable again we should be being very careful. If rumours are true and the figure was over 6 figures then that’s just crazy even if it’s in a payment plan.

Solihull can happily throw money around, as Wrexham found out last season that doesn’t always guarantee you promotion.

I’d like us to offer Wreh a contract and hopefully we can get in someone else from the much talked about whiteboard.

I would get Wreh signed up, even before we lost out on Kelly

Mate, seriously, if you think that's the pivotal factor in a player's decision, you're crazy. Money talks and I'm sure Josh Kelly will be feeling absolutely fine right about now. It's like clapping for the NHS during COVID - a nice gesture, but I'd bet my mortgage they'd prefer a better-than-derisory pay-rise and some free car-parking.

Just to give our stadium announcer a heart attack I would put forward:

Guiseppe James Iaciofano - Joint Golden boot winner with St Albans and 22 in 40 appearances at Oxford City last season.

Didn't make it with Northampton though, released 3 years ago, so could be hungry like Callum Powell.

Age 23.

Wreh on a six month contract and a loanee would do me, still a little worried on the defence we confided a lot last year so it has to improve
