No wonder they don't want to sell Kelly! If Maidenhead don’t want to sell Kelly we should try and convince Acquah to rejoin the club. He’s what we are missing at the moment

Former Foreign Minister of Senegal? What's Amadou Ba up to these days?
It's a cunning plan. Devonshire won't be happy until the whole of Southend has been turned into Spam.
Rumours have begun to circulate on social media that at least a couple of National League clubs are interested in taking Kelly, who netted 17 goals in all competitions last season, off the Magpies hands.
The player still has a year to run on his contract and any club looking to prize him away this summer would have to stump up some cash.
One of the clubs thought to be interested in signing Kelly is Southend United, with the Southend Echo reporting that they were ‘pushing hard’ to sign a forward who netted ‘double figures for his club last season’.
Southend are keen to bolster their attacking options with Ryan Murphy and Harry Cardwell both set to miss the start of the season through injury.
However, Devonshire said this morning the striker wouldn't be joining the Shrimpers.
“I can't really say too much, but the Southend thing, I can tell you now is a no,” said Devonshire. “I'll probably say something more later in the week.
“We would need compensation because he's under contract, but that's all I can say at the moment.”
Kelly was one of the standout players for the Magpies last season, scoring 17 times in all competitions and shouldering the scoring burden in an often-challenging season. In recognition of his efforts, he claimed the golden boot, manager’s, and players' player of the season awards.
United claimed their fourth win of pre-season with an entertaining 4-3 victory over Potters Bar Town last night (Wednesday). Kelly wasn't part of a small Maidenhead squad that travelled to the Lantern Stadium; however, he did feature for the Magpies in Saturday’s 1-0 win over Brentford’s B team.
The Magpies twice came from behind in the first half at Potters Bar, with Shawn McCoulsky scoring both goals from the penalty spot.
The visitors fell behind once more before a 25-yard rocket from Charlee Adams drew them level in the 70th minute. Emile Acquah then grabbed the winner, dinking the ball over the keeper in the 88th minute to seal an entertaining win.
Reflecting on their latest run-out, Devonshire said: “The pitch wasn't the greatest, it was bumpy, and they were very physical. Again, there were some pluses and minuses. We didn't defend too well at corners, they played route one and we found that difficult at times. But we showed some character and ended up scoring a few goals as well.
“We've still got half the team out with niggles, and I'd like to think three or four of them will be back for Saturday (at Hungerford Town) and there's probably only one that might miss the first game of the season.
“There are things to work on, but our fitness levels seem ok, so I'm pleased with that, but we won't know until the season starts and we begin with a team in form (Notts County away on August 6) who are beating everyone at the moment, including Leicester City. They've been having some good results but there are no points at stake.
“Pre-season isn't about the results; it's about getting minutes into the legs of the players and getting ready for the start of the season.”
True ...But equally i wouldn’t have thought he would have come out publicly and said he’s not going to Southend unless he’s pretty sure he’s not, otherwise he’ll know he’ll look pretty stupid
All very true but this is Shrimperzone and I'm exercising my right to make Spammist comments even though logically they and their alumni have no interest in us whatsoever.I love how the reality of this situation is that Ron doesn't pay people and then there are 2 pages of people slagging off Devonshire. This one is on us folks. We have been run into the ground over the last few years in particular and our name is mud out there. Stan and co are working very hard to repair this but Rome wasn't built in a day. You reap what you sow. Let's hope success on the field starts to heal the wounds more quickly.
The fee for Kelly is/would be high and I personally think we can get better value elsewhere... Looking forward to some news soon on a trialist if the price is right.
2 goals, 2 assists, a lot that watched him v Col U liked what they saw, Kev spoke well about last performance. Getting to grips with the way we play. We’re all tossersAnd there was me thinking Napper was a tosser
Is this the official definition of a Southend United fan? We’re all tossers
I liked the look of him - ignoring that crude tackle to set up the goal seemed to speak volumes about him2 goals, 2 assists, a lot that watched him v Col U liked what they saw, Kev spoke well about last performance. Getting to grips with the way we play. I’d say sounds a very good option to have
Yes, I think the ignorance he showed towards that tackle gave off a proper raw feel about him, in a good way that isI liked the look of him - ignoring that crude tackle to set up the goal seemed to speak volumes about him
That to me says Kelly’s favoured place to go is us….. but Maidenhead are basically saying your not going there…

This is the version I will console myself with. That to me says Kelly’s favoured place to go is us….. but Maidenhead are basically saying your not going there…
And we can all sing to him "Where's your Kelly gone...where's you Kelly gone" when we play Maidenhead. Will love seeing Devonshire's silly West Ham face when his boy Kelly signs for Southend
