Don't no why Ron did not grow some weed few months back...got property with some made up name... so if it came on top Ron wouldn't get the blame...turks and Albanians allways do it and get by... had he done this wouldn't be in a kelly situation....
Because it's illegal to grow class B prohibited drugs in this country. Obviously being a Non League expert doesn't cover that fact.

If we were paying up front it wouldn't likely be a problem. There is no risk to Maidenhead and our reputation is irrelevant. The fact is though Solihull can pay up front and we can't. Unless we can find a six figure sum in the war chest tonight then it almost certainly ain't happening.
And there we have it. Solihull have the money from Hudlin burning a hole in their pocket. We don’t. As sobering as it is, we cannot compete with six figure offers (upfront) whether it’s Solihull or whoever. We are where we are.

On to the next.

Chris Wreh anyone?

Don't be surprised if some other ITK have stopped their info or slowed it down due to other threads.

Not me. Although some people like to make subtle digs without tagging you in which is always nice…

Don’t forget, a lot of information some of the ITK posters have are confidential, and by commenting on certain things, means we “give away the game” so to speak.

Also, we have life’s outside of SZ. I have a wife, and a two year old son. My wife’s shifts work around mine, so I’m either at work, looking after my son, or spending family time together which is fairly rare as my shifts go over weekends too.

I’ve been speaking to my contact/s and have a clear picture of what is going on, which has been backed up by other posters and other sources too. I’ve been allowed to give an update on this situation.

Yes, Josh Kelly is the striker I’ve been alluding to all summer. Yes, he is the one that his club demanded a six figure fee. Yes, he is the one who has scored in this division. It wasn’t Cheek, the striker that went to Hartlepool or any other striker that was named.

He hasn’t been the only striker we have been interested in this summer, but he has been the one most work has gone into. Although, someone else ran him close at one stage. Yes, if this move doesn’t come off, we do have other targets, not just the two lads we have on trial. I wouldn’t be overly surprised to see another striker come in, even if we did sign Kelly.

Kelly wants to come here. Medical, personal terms etc would be a formality. He has family from the area, who have connections to the Club. However, his Club aren’t overly keen on doing business with us at the moment. As @Bexley Blue @Magnum PI & @Smiffy said, although our reputation within the game is improving, it’s still not the best. They want a larger fee upfront than the bid from Solihull Moors, but the figure would be the same. We haven’t offered more than them officially, I believe it was a conversation about keeping our “initial outlay” the same, but increasing the figure they’d get overall to negate spending more upfront, but they want a larger figure upfront.

Solihull Moors have had a bid in for a little while, and like us, have been discussing for a while. They have a bid which has been “accepted” but I believe that Kelly wasn’t overly keen initially, and is holding out for us. However, if the two options are stick where he is, or more to Solihull Moors, then I imagine he’ll move.

Whether we can agree on whatever that larger fee upfront is, I’m not overly optimistic.

We all know things are tight in the world, tight in football clubs, and especially tight at Southend. I’m led to believe October is a key month for us, when things could change financially for the better, I can only assume that’s the training ground complete and work beginning on FF.

If we miss out on Kelly, we will still bring a striker in. Like missing out on Mussa (nothing to do with the embargo, which we are out of), we brought it Wes.

Thanks for the update @BoyWonder2, they are always knowledgeable and they keep us in the loop on player progress. As has been said earlier, your posts are welcomed from far more Zoners than those that have a dig occasionally, so ignore the ones that are wearisome and just keep on posting in the knowledge that you are greatly valued on here.

Thanks BW great update. So not all dead in the water quite yet and good that he wants to join us. Fingers crossed

Thanks a lot for the update BW2, always good to hear confirmation from another reliable source and appreciated by the vast majority despite a few negative posters.

I’d be a bit frustrated if Maidenhead were requiring a larger overall fee from us, but I don’t blame them at all to expect an unreliable buyer to pay more up front, you only get credit if you’ve got a good credit history as a couple of posters have already alluded to.

I feel like adding two strikers would make us quite top heavy, do you think we’re expecting to move anyone on at all?

Cheers for the updates like always . Positive sign he wants to join us so there still a tiny bit of hope on that front . Let just see what happens .

If Luke Coulson was that good then surely another National League Prem club would have signed him?
It a strange on as he had very good creation stats last season. Think but don’t quote me he created 49 opportunities

Thanks @BoyWonder2 for the update. Disappointed, but not overly surprised unfortunately. Hopefully a few rabbits can be pulled out of a few hats, but if not, I’ve got faith in the management team that we’ve got other very capable targets lined up.

Yeah I think his stats were impressive. Strange one though as if he was that good you would’ve thought Bromley would’ve kept him.

Thanks for the update mate, always appreciated 👊🏼

Yeah I think his stats were impressive. Strange one though as if he was that good you would’ve thought Bromley would’ve kept him.
I got the impression that there was a lot of unrest at Bromley. A lot of the players that left made reference to loving their time under Neil Smith.

Felt like Devonshire was angling for more money in his comments, and he has a duty to Maidenhead to get the best deal for them, and @BoyWonder2 confirms that really.

Personally I have full faith in Kev, Stan, Tom & co to do what’s in our best interest, if that’s increase our offer (if we can) to get our man then he must be worth it, if not and we miss out so be it, no player is worth breaking the bank for.

And after the last few years saying I have faith in our recruitment team to get it right is HUGE progress!

The club seems to be running in a proper manner .Bringing in player at the right price .We got Moonie on a free as paid a small fee for two other players .Moonie is a great player to add to our team .If we have to pay over the odds for Kelly is it worth braking the bank just for one player .
