Could be why there's possible interest for Josh to come here.Twitter seems to suggest Josh Kelly's family are from Southend and his dad is (or at least was) a fan:
Hi mate, all I will say at the moment is there is a lot of work to do still on the player in questionHi mate, ive followed your comments with interest, much like Boy Wonder and use you as a reliable source. A few on here including Magnum (not digging at him) have said that the kelly deal is off or he is going elsewhere. Are you able to shed any light on this matter?
That's ****. Would of been a decent signing...... clearly Maidenhead want money upfront which sulihull can provide.Josh's old man has most recently followed Solihull on Twitter, probably doesn't bode well!
That would be a shame if true. We can’t stop one or two posting silly comments, but their views shouldn’t be seen as representative of the thousands of active SZ members.Don't be surprised if some other ITK have stopped their info or slowed it down due to other threads.
You say that, but Neal Ardley is also really well respected in the game. I thought Solihull were really impressive last season. If they are also in for him, we will find it hard to compete. They play in a similar way to Maidenhead. Big man, little man combination. They seem to have a lot of financial clout and were successful last season too.Clearly Josh has a lot to consider. Must be great to have competing options. From a football perspective I think he'd have to go a long way to beat our coaching team.
I think that's the issue, but let's not forget that paying in installments would probably be more acceptable to the selling club if we didn't have an awful reputation in the game for not paying financial obligations on time. We need to offer more money up front but probably can't. @Smiffy just gave me the perfect analogy. It’s like trying to get a mortgage with a **** credit rating. Bigger deposit required. That's ****. Would of been a decent signing...... clearly Maidenhead want money upfront which sulihull can provide.
For the second time this season lolWould love this to come off. But think we've missed a sitter in the 90th minute.
It would be a real shame, I know we can't get our first choice targets every time but imagine if we'd brought Mussa and Kelly in, would be a dream window. To get so close to both to miss out on them would be tough to take.I am expecting a typical Southend 'nearly but not quite' thanks to our show of a club
Its sad when we cant compete with clubs like Solihull. I bet we would have never believed that a few years agoYou say that, but Neal Ardley is also really well respected in the game. If Chesterfield are another club after him we will also find it really hard to compete.
So if we somehow pull this off, it would be a fantastic signing!
I agree. I'm not overly fussed about mussa but Kelly going elsewhere is disappointing. We may have to opt using the loan market to bring in striker. It would be a real shame, I know we can't get our first choice targets every time but imagine if we'd brought Mussa and Kelly in, would be a dream window.
