We are in division 5. I'm really optimistic for this season, but we have to get out of this wretched division before anybody can claim that sort of postiivtity and forecast!
🤣 🤣 I meant as in things being done properly. I.e the scouting department.

But yes, I forgot I was on shrimperzone.

I actually get why PB didn’t want him, and that’s fine. Totally normal situation in football. He just handled it horrendously. Players want honestly, not some nonsense about running stats.

FWIW I totally get where @Chalky is coming from and I’d probably side with him on this one. He’s been ridiculously unlucky, but again that’s football. Let him rehab here. It’s probably best for both parties to move on here

Yeah I gotta stop using PB to help my Simeon agenda 🤣 🤣 Its like asking a prostitute how to become a nun.

I agree that he has been awfully unlucky, he is a good guy as well. But I just want some clarity. Lets build on the Lomas's, Taylors, Mooneys of this world and see what we can find. Onwards and upwards

I trust Kev and team to make the right decision on Akinola- and they are better placed to do so than anyone on here. Unless there is further news I think his injury today was an “impact” injury and nothing too bad?

Some fans on here really lack empathy for other humans when it comes to football.

Sad to see really.
No one wanted him to get injured and I certainly hope he has a decent future. However I think we need to move on without him. Reasons for this: he has had one prolific season in 10 years of which 9 of his 15 goals were penalties, i dont think he set the world alight for us when he was here (from memory he was liked because he put himself about and chased alot down and he was one of the harder workers of a very poor team), he is clearly a very injury prone player and is coming back from a very bad injury which could easily happen again (everyone moaned about us signing old players who couldnt play most the season - unfortunately Sim falls under that and has missed alot of football in the last year or so).

We need to move on, get someone who can bang in loads of goals and someone who can play every week.

Good luck to Sim - hope you find another club and rediscover your form but I think both parties now need to go their seperate ways.

Spot on.
People seem to think that wanting to move on from a player who has been unlucky with injury etc is somehow harsh or uncalled for. It isn’t, it’s logical.

Sim wasn't injury prone until an old dinosaur threw him into a football match with not training and match fitness.

I find the sim thing quite interesting, almost a sort of morbid curiosity, the last hang on from a devastatingly bad time for the club. things were so bad we needed a saviour but we were too far gone for one. Maybe deep down we all just want a positive to come out of that bad time and for him personally, I distinctly recall him trying very hard initially, which was a bit of fresh air at the time but as a team we were too terrible for just
one person to really make a difference.

A part of me wants him gone asap, a reminder of abysmal times, last of the dead wood, but another part of me wants him to stay on and become a success.

Are we being a bit harsh on Sim here, in an average season we can expect 5 to 7 hamstring injuries. It’s sadly very common and even more so pre season as players continue to build up strength.
strenghtening of the hamstring with training and matches continues to develop through to mid season. Whose next.? Let’s get rid if they get one?

Morning All, I hope you all manage to enjoy another glorious Essex summers day today!

Quick question, I haven’t managed to see the new trialists as yet. Wondering of those who have watched them who has impressed them the most and do they think they have shown enough to be a potential signing?

That is an reason why we own Sim one, at least the coaching team & the club is helping him out much as possible and they will help him after his injury yesterday. I am glad the club have empathy toward Sim, I be unhappy if we treated him like s***.

He arrived with an injury and played most games at half pace and his lack of any meaningful goals or performance on the pitch is a major reason why we are in the NL. Not helped by that other waste of space ANG who never passed to Sim when he was in good positions.

PB made it quite clear he was not his ‘cup of tea’ after the relegation. Sim chose to stay because he knew he would not get the wage anywhere else.

He had all summer and two months of the season to get fit. Yet some on here blame PB for the opposition giving him a whack…. No doubt targeted as one of the many Southend players who don’t fancy it. That’s what teams have been doing at RH for the last 3 seasons .

It did improve after Christmas because the CB,CM and briefly the CF players on loan all fancied it.

Let’s hope we have 3 players like that again other wise we won’t be challenging for play offs let alone titles……. Nothing against Sim and wish him luck but if anyone thinks he is the answer they had best look up a guide to NLS.
