Without sounding too harsh cause you never want to see a player injured and by all accounts Simeon is a really good guy, hoping it’s not too serious. But hopefully this finally spells the end of his time here and we can finally have 100% focus on a new forward.

The weird obsession I have seen from some fans around Sim is utterly bizarre. A 30 year old luxury player who doesn't have a designated, settled position and had the worst running stats during last years pre season. Cannot think of any memorable games from him. Also has not had a good run of games since 2019.

Past is the past, let's allow our progressive football department to do what they have been brilliantly doing. Couple of good young players got released end of last year and some good young bucks on trial on now, stop effecting their progression with Sim still hanging round the place. Let’s move on.

Oh no he didn’t.

Phil Brown literally said himself on a zoom call he wasn't happy with his workrate in training.

I should have made it clearer with regards the pre season bit, cause it was weird timelines between PB coming in and stuff. But his runnings stats and distance covered on the gps tracker was poor, I know this directly. This isnt a secret.

Sim was a good signing for us at the time and if anyone knows him it’s Currie. He’s had a lot of stick, mainly from the second PB stint, when he was unfairly rushed back into action too soon. I really don’t know if he could do a job for us but he’s clearly rated by Kev & Co. He’s been tagged with this “lazy” label but he’s just had horrendous luck.
I hope he finds a club at a decent level.

Exactly this!

He joined us in the worst time of our history with a toxic environment. If he can get back fit and Currie can get him back to the form he had before we signed him he will be an asset.

It also isn’t 100% correct.

At one stage in pre-season, Akinola was at the front of the running, and had been “pulling up trees”. More than one ITK poster said this last summer.

From what it’s worth, I’m not a huge fan of Akinola, he was offered (along with all the other players released by us) to come back in the summer if they hadn’t been fixed up elsewhere. Not as a “trial” but as a decent thing to do to help with their fitness and in finding a new club.

Borrowing a quote from stranger things “Papa lies”, I would not necessary believe everything a manager says who already determined that they didn’t want a player

I remember brown saying exactly that sim was pulling up trees

That I agree with. I myself have defended plenty of players from past couple years due to this, entirely vaild.

But we all wanted a reset over the summer and were happy with it. The usual condescending remarks to some for being part of the 'rot' but Sim escapes it all, why? (not that he should of course)

For the most part he has been very average for us, but we were all told "Just play him here and it all work" "put this player next to him and he will come good" the usual spill with him. He then gets injured, though not his fault, we pay his wage for a year and nurse him back. We have a big clear out over summer but again "Surprised by Sim going, just do this thing and he will be great blah blah".

He then comes into pre season, gets onto the pitch and gets injured after 35 mins. And low and behold we have fallen for it yet again "Hopefully he can get back to himself" "Mend him up and try again blah blah"

When we have we ever shown a player this much slack?!

The amount of players we have denigrated for being a bit of an injury prone crock who is ageing. But yet, here with Simeon who is 30 years old, body giving up on him and been taking a wage from the club for 2 years despite producing **** all gets this bizarre "lets just try once more with him!" Utterly baffling. Whats the difference between Simeon and Rob Kiernan?? Besides finances.

The craziest thing of all, he actually was released. Darren Currie clearly decided to move on supposedly, he only here cause we allowed him to use facillities to get fit.

I hate this to be an attack on him. But we finally have the world at our feet with a progressive exciting football department with the educated wise eye of veteran John Still and eloquent, passionate former player Stan Collymore doing due dilligence on every promising non league starlet there is and yet we still wanna flirt with this ex girlfriend who wasnt even very good, 30 and getting injured.

Fair enough. I should have known better to not take everything a manager says as gospel, but I have been told his gps metrics was not PB wanted. Then again Phil's style of football is quite taxing and requires a certain personality and profile of footballer.

I don’t think anyone expects Sim to play for Southend again, but if the current coaching team decided he could do a job, I’d trust them. As it is, he’s just trying to get his fitness back so fair play to him and he’s certainly no Rob Kiernan. Why’s there no swear filter for that ****.

Yeah lol I went a bit far with that one. Dunno why but I have somehow got a bee in my bonnet about Sim. Which is a shame cause Im not normally one to develop agendas around players.

Think It was cause he got minutes today which I would rather have seen gone to a trialist or young player.

If Maher had thought it was right to, I’m sure he would have. Sim is basically a trialist. Signed for a league 2 club after getting a hatful at this level. If he could show that again then we would surely offer him a deal.

Why does sim get so much air time? His time at sufc has now pretty much come to end. The guy hardly set the world alight when he did play for sufc. Lets move on and continue to build a side capable of mounting a play off push.
