Transfer News, Gossip & Speculation Summer/Autumn Transfer Targets/Rumours Thread 2022

I am putting him on here as he is an ex shrimper now, a very good player but unrealistic hopes of signing him and everyone(including me) is just clogging up the transfer gossip page about signing him.

Polish under 21 captain playing with people in the top flight with players from the top flight of Germany, England, Italy and France, signing permanently for a non league side unfortunately its no chance. I would love someone to say to be this has aged well though!

Agree on the above all three parties (Kacper, Sheff Utd & Southend) all benefitted from the loan - which is the aim of the loan system right?

Would love to see him kick on either at Sheff Utd or in Europe and make his way to a European championship or WC with Poland. One of a few loan players i will keep an eye on their future career.

Akinola will be weeks away from being fully fit I suspect the club are just keeping him ticking over till he can find another club. We need someone to hit the ground running. I would think he will be one of the higher earners too. Just one of those signings that didn't work out we've had plenty of those over the last few years.

Yes agreed. We all benefitted and he will always be one of our best loan signings

If he doesn't come back I would be surprised as he couldn't be dropping any more hints on Instagram and also commenting on fans posts. I remember he did a story a little while with a hour glass and a shrimp emoji. I think you'd be forgiven for jumping to conclusions! That being said, even if he thinks the deals done, doesn't mean Sheff Utd do.

I get in, but he IS a current transfer target, so does deserve discussion on the transfer gossip thread.

Whether he ever returns to Roots Hall, that remains to be seen, but we are actively looking to bring him back.

I’ve explained the situation a few times now, and again, nothing has changed in that respect.

Good, I be happy to have my fellow Pole playing for my team 🙌🏻👏🏻

As asked of another poster, are you basing these 'unrealistic hopes' on assumptions or something you know to be true?

Signing Sim only makes sense if he comes in as back up.
That being the case there would not be any chance of him being one of the higher earners.
Some might wonder why he would consider joining us at reduced wages but he is said live locally, and, possess good IT qualifications.
My younger son operates his own IT related business and generates a decent income from it. He works from home at hours of his choosing. I am just guessing here, but, if Sim's situation is remotely similar he could easily combine playing football and running his business. In such circumstances living locally would be a big plus as time otherwise spent travelling could be used working on his business.
Not remotely in the know and just a guess but it might not the worse guess ever been posted on SZ!

Just like Neal he was always a possibility until he signed for Barrow. And until he has signed for someone else or been told he is not going out on loan he remains a transfer target. Maher and co have all said they’d like to and are trying to bring him back.

There is an difference, Neal was keen to stay as he an Yorkshire lad, on another hand, Lopata want out and play many games to process and to enjoy an football career.

Clubs often forget players are people with different things being important to them.

Neal is happy to be there, and go where he is sent to develop- presumably whether its what he wants or not (Let's be honest Barrow is one of the most deprived areas in the UK, a 3hr 40 min drive from Sheff and they are very likely relegation candidates so be surprised if it's his dream move. What it will be is character building and a tick somewhere in the development box).

By the looks of it Lopata wants to be in a given geography, playing regularly for a club he wants to be at (not necessarily saying us). In short probably being happy comes high up the list. So for him having no control through signing an extension, and risking either splinters in his backside, u23 football or joining Neal at Barrow is very unattractive.

Neither player has it wrong.

And given he is going to Barrow probably we weren't so far down the list of options either.

At his best he would be if not first choice a regular starter. Forget the higher earning bit. He signed a contract when we were in the EFL. That has ended. We didn't extend. So any negotiation would be on a new contract based on our current budget. As I've said before the front 3 would really suit him so if he got back to his best and we didn't sign him because we have better lined up...well happy days indeed.

The club will be one step at a time. First proving his fitness. Then closely monitoring his performances. Then a decision to be made.

I reckon he will sign, and I wouldn't be to disappointed

So…end of the week. Wondering if the ITK crew have an update on if any offers have been made or further targets identified? I appreciate you can’t give specifics but would be interesting to hear if we are still active or if we are slowing down now we are in our pre-season phase.
