Aim high my friend. If we try and fail it was better than not trying at all.
Sure, let the management team etc. try, that's their job.

I'm a realist and, as such, I recognise the fact that we have a very, very slim chance of signing him on loan or on a permanent contract any time soon.

After the game against Canvey I said to my dad and mates that we looked a striker away from being a very good unit. The build up play and the way we are trying to play is so suited to needing a number 9 in the box to play off and aim at. Bridge and Mooney got into some great positions to cross but there was no one to aim at. The trialists really aren't that type of player.

Therefore, I'm really hoping that any players we are in discussions with suit that mould.

Some on here are like a love struck teen boys over Kacper... been going out with a girl that's way beyond what they should have been able to pull... only for the dream to end suddenly and unable to accept that she's never getting back with you.
And you would rather settle for miss plain nobody and settle for a boring and uneventful life?

No, it's about getting over it, knowing what the reality is and moving on (as fans). Whether the management are still trying to make something happen is down to them, but I'd bet even they know it's pretty much a dead duck.

Whilst I understand and agree with some of your post, it seems strange that we appoint an Academy Manager and as such I would have hoped that we would get the best local talent in our Academy
What you don't know, however, is if we did approach him (although maybe you do). It's very possible that we did, but he chose Luton, which (let's face it) is a no brainer from his point of view. You could also argue how did Luton not see Charlie Sayers given the circumstances that @southendkid mentioned? How on earth did we manage to steal him from under their noses? Maybe our academy deserves some credit there?

This series of posts has a feel of ‘’if it comes off I’ll skip naked down the entire length of Southend high street singing ‘I’m just a girl who can’t say no’’ about it… Will you oblige when Kacper signs on?

Why's that?

Not being funny... just curious as I don't know much about him beyond what Wiki throws up.

He scored 17 last season in a mid to lower table team and from what I have seen he would be a handful for defences as strong and mobile, which in turn would hopefully free up space for the likes of mooney, Powell and bridge. Just my opinion though!

Just out of interest .. is what you're saying based on something you know or is it an assumption?

Not in the know, but not quite an assumption when taking all the evidence in to consideration.
Well we wouldn't break the bank for him (or any player) .. nor should we. Wouldn't he slot right in though and wouldn't it be such a boost? The right deal could suit all parties.

I haven't heard any gossip about any other CB's, incidentally ... anyone?

Is GK a position still needing fuller options? Steveeeeee may get injured, Collin needs games (loan) and the defence needs an understanding with whoever plays in gk?

Who do we have as the midfield gutsy, hard tackling, no nonsense "terrier"? In the Neal, Timlin, Deegan, Butler mode?

The injury assessments on Murph and Cards dictate the attack requirements? 1 or 2 needed?
