Looking at the video of training on the beach who are Arrowsmith, Crowhurst and Reeve on Kev's sheet?

2nd year scholars who were awarded with a third year pro development deal.

Jaden Crowhurst is a centre midfielder who can also play right back. Luke Reeve (Youth player of the year) is a centre back and Louie Arrowsmith, I believe, is a left back. Is this correct @Exiled Shrimper ?

I have been trying to find out a bit more from a guy I know who is semi involved within the youth part of the club. One bit I got back is that J Crowhurst can really play.

Correct.

Jaden Crowhurst was the youth team captain last year. He spent much of his first season as a scholar playing in central midfield, but he was moved to right-back/right wing-back last season and adapted well, playing for the U23s in that role as well as the U18s. He’s got a decent dead-ball delivery and scored a fair few goals, mostly from long-range.

Luke Reeve was the youth team player of the year and is a centre-back. All three spent time on loan at Great Wakering Rovers in Isthmian North last season, and Luke really benefited from it. The loan spell, playing adult football, made him more vocal and confident in his ability.

Louie Arrowsmith is a left-back/left wing-back. He was recognised by the LFE in their ‘The 11’ feature for his efforts as a scholar during last season. A really dependable player, with a wicked left foot. Scored a few goals playing on the left-side of midfield during his loan spell at Wakering.

Crowhurst has potential. Looked good when I saw him

Yeah, I'm getting word that the boy can play. Only time I have ever seen him was on Luke the Kitman's insta story where it was a short clip of J Crowhurst receiving the ball, nutmegging James Dunne, and then laying it off.

Maybe he gets a few minutes this Saturday or elsewhere in our pre season schedule.

The interesting question is will there be anyone leaving us though. I know we had a clear out but will anyone attract attention from other clubs. I know rumours of Dalby attracting attention from clubs higher up.

Where are these dalby rumours coming from?

Hardly surprising.

Good youngster with great potential.

Needs to bulk up.

Do we think there will be any new player's coming in before the season starts either permanent or loan?
With Cardwell on crutches and Murphy not yet able to train fully with the group it is inconceivable for us to go into the season without at least one additional striker in the squad.

I wonder if Akinola on a short term deal might be an option - he’s been more involved in pre-season when he’s not our player than he was last year when he was under contract!

For me Sam Dalby is pretty much the blueprint for the type of player we are now signing. Young, bag loads of ability, the potential to improve and most importantly with a future sell on value.

Unfortunately I think for us to progress and start moving up through the leagues we will see a few ‘Sam Dalby’s’ come and go. But I think this should be viewed positively as this is the Brentford model so respected by our very own SVC where you sell a star to buy several more potentials.

Great to see the early well planned training regime. Well done the club in offering the insights. It looks intense, fun, demanding and well planned. Not a lot of specific 5 , 7 or 11 a side games as you would expect at this stage, but building team morale and general fitness early on.
A lot of strengthening, running , movement , some limited ball work and further testing and conditioning, Looks like everyone enjoying it, especially the fun drills and competitive events

Got me wondering though about whether we have ever had a specific striker coach and what drills do we employ to develop the strikers, Anyone ITK care to elaborate

To my reckoning we have only had one Manager who actually was a striker in 27 years. Its nearly always defenders or Midfielders who mainly end up as Managers. Does any club at lower levels ever employ a specific striker coach Im sure Stan knows a thing or two??

We had Andy Cole .....but he was part of the sol package and was still recovering from a serious illness. He did half hour of more or less just watching the shooting practice pregame. That was pretty much his only involvement. So I don't really count him as a striker coach even though that was his job with us.

Yes thanks Id forgotten about him, probably because it was such a brief engagement !

Bond’s first team coach, Todorov, was a forward in his playing days.

Crown was used as an attacking coach as was Bill Garner
A few strikers offering training in the past then, although seems sometime ago, Also forgotten about Todorof. Just wondered with young strikers like Cardwell and Dalby, whether they get any specialised striker guidance to speed their development. Maybe its all in the drills, I assume you dont have to always be a striker to set up certain drills for the forwards, to help learn more about movement, interchanging pace, finding the key ingredient, space, running off the shoulder, losing a defender, the psychology as much as the physical, hold up play, when to STAND STILL ETC

It must take a while to learn unless you are a George Best and there's big differences between an Ibramovich and a Vardy
