If the agent wants an unacceptably low "buy out" value Weymouth might have something to say as they are only accepting 20k on the basis of a sell on %. Suspecting a drawn out saga they/ we may not want to be bothered with...

I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss it. I heard he was already on North of £2,500. Their owner/manager is absolutely minted.

Maybe I'm the one far off the mark then, blimey for a semi-pro side!? Bringing in £130k/year for part-time work isn't bad if you can get it.

If true surely he was never even close to being an option for us, can't see us getting anywhere near to matching that let alone paying more to bring him in full-time, that's before insurance costs are even in the equation.
 
To be fair I think Marc White has got big plans for Dorking (and deep pockets). They’ve had a pretty rapid rise to where they are now and White is most likely planning for that rise to continue. He’s no mug and he knows how valuable Alfie is to them, so wouldn’t surprise me if he’s made it pretty much impossible for Rutherford to leave by getting his wallet out.
 
Marc White reminds me of a less crazy, but similar guy to Glenn Tamplin, wanting to own a club and manage the team at the same time
