We once signed a forward with 73 goals in 83 appearances at Southern league level. Southern league golden boot, England C call up. Subsequently failed to hit a barn door with a banjo at EFL and National league level and is now back at the level he came from. Sometimes they score at the higher level- mostly they don't. A trial is sometimes an excellent way or working that out else its a big gamble (and BTW nothing wrong with a few of those if the £ is right)

Anyway that *ship* has sailed
Good.

Apparently he's gone part time and training to be a plumber - hence why he's gone to Salisbury.

It’s very true players don’t always make it at a higher level and a trail can help. Incidentally my lad was turned down by Braintree around 10 years ago having scored two goals in a trail. Danny Cowley finally signed him for Braintree 4 years later.

Heard both Lopata and Neal were required back for pre season with Sheffield so that their progress could be looked at and then decisions made on their futures. Keep, loan, sell etc.. Not heard about Brunt.

Cant believe so many are still carrying on about Mussa, anyone would think hes the next CR7
Agreed, he is 21 and still lots to learn and although appears to be a very decent player im certain there are more targets (on the white board). You win some and lose some. Move on and go after the next targets. For me we still need more goals from midfield and Mussa's record suggested he wouldnt be that type of player

So far this has been a far more enjoyable summer than the past few. We've already signed 5 newbies, all with potential. I don't remember that happening for the previous three seasons, and it's only just rolled over into July.

Indeed. And there is always that chance we unearth a "trialist" from our forthcoming friendlies. That's another route to find players that might otherwise not be "on the radar".

Why so salty? Anyway we don’t get 1800, 1200 is our hardcore home crowd plus away and it’s average for this level I’m sure you’ll get use to it. You should be worried about your own club if you’re pulling in 5 x the crowd we are and still getting beat to signings, Martin Out has gone quiet since you won a handful of games at the backend of last season, not sure why as he didn’t want to put his hand in his pocket for this signing.
Seems like u got him well done if he was a priority I’m sure he’d be with us rn. Look forward to booing him home and away
