Indeed YB. I think the strategy is to get in very well scouted players with clear potential, even paying fees where we have to, but making sure we benefit from that potential coming off. If a combination of a sell on percentage and a buyout clause effectively precludes that then I guess we stick to our guns and move on to targets 2 or 3 where that will be the case.

I can’t bring myself to hate any of our local rivals. Truth be told I always had a soft spot for Daggers, which was hardened slightly after their fans antics whilst spanking us 0-4, but hey ho. I’d like us, them, the Ewes and Orient to all be in the same division so we get some decent local derbies. Anyway back to transfers, I don’t agree we necessarily messed up the deal, if we had an agreement which was then gazzumped at the death we’re right to stick two fingers up. If the guy sees Daggers as a better choice for career progression that’s his choice much as it seems a strange one. But if they win the league then he’ll be proved right! I doubt it though..
