Awaiting daggers to announce now so we can put this saga to bed once and for all and move on to the next. Don’t you just love the summer.

Football Club owner taking an interest in how his money (or money he owes) is spent? Shock, horror!
What is the case is that if true then we don't know the details so its impossible to form an opinion based on facts. May be justified, maybe not. Anyhow we move on, I'm sure the white board list still has some decent alternatives...

Mussa is bit of ****house to. Verbally agrees to sign and trains with the lads then has last min change of heart (most probably joined Daggers due to better contract). That is your typical modern day footballer I'm afraid.
Not sure he has actually signed for them yet either

Another possibility which has been suggested to me is that the disagreement could be over a release clause if an offer was received of a certain amount we’d agree to sell. In that scenario, Ron might be protecting the club, ensuring we wouldn’t lose an asset for a fraction of their true worth and lose out on future sell-ons etc.

It’s a delicate balance. Nobody is happy if we lose out on the player but people also wouldn’t be happy if a player who’d become an integral part of our team left after 6 months and with no sell on clause because the level the fee was set out was so low.

I don't think he's done anything wrong at all amd not selected to football. If that happened to me with a job I'd jump without question to the highest offer. Id be suprised if anyone didnt if theres no attachment to the company beforehand. He has no loyalty to Southend whatsoever.

If you were gonna sell your house and someone offered an extra 20% etc would you turn them down cause you'd verbally agreed to sell cheaper?

I’m not sure what sort of extras a buying club would want to put into a deal, nor whether this was the deal with Weymouth or deal with the player but such such last minute tactics are not uncommon when a party isn’t ready with the money.

Look for example at how Elon Musk moved the goalposts on his offer to buy twitter after his Tesla stock and bitcoin holdings plummeted in value.
Believe it was a change in the buy out bit that caused the waves. Not aware of the finer detail though

Im hearing that this was a done deal until RM got involved at the end and wanted extras put in the deal and then it went pear shaped. I hear KM wasnt over the moon, but probably wasnt surprised.

Interesting that only this deal did not go ahead because of Ron then as it would seem he is involved in all deals despite not being involved in day to day activities.

Are you sure that this is true and not the usual anti Ron anytime anything goes wrong?

Apparently David Smith a 35 goal striker last season with Folkestone Invicta, also trained with Southend, prior to joining Bromley last week.

So far this has been a far more enjoyable summer than the past few. We've already signed 5 newbies, all with potential. I don't remember that happening for the previous three seasons, and it's only just rolled over into July.

Im afraid that where I hear things from, it isnt likely to be wrong. I sometimes wish it was, because some of the things I hear are quite unbelieveable for a professional football club!.
In all honesty most of us would probably be shocked at what goes on behind closed doors at most companies whether they be football clubs or anything else. The public face is rarely an accurate barometer of the internal workings..

We once signed a forward with 73 goals in 83 appearances at Southern league level. Southern league golden boot, England C call up. Subsequently failed to hit a barn door with a banjo at EFL and National league level and is now back at the level he came from. Sometimes they score at the higher level- mostly they don't. A trial is sometimes an excellent way or working that out else its a big gamble (and BTW nothing wrong with a few of those if the £ is right)

Anyway that *ship* has sailed
