Quote[/b] ]Yes you're right, one poor display in the play-off semi 2nd leg surely proves Willock is a complete donkey. Of course fortunately none of our half-decent strikers EVER have a poor game do they - obviously if Freddy put in a poor one sometime he would fully deserve to be released from his contract so he can go and find a club who play more to his level like the Conference or Essex Senior League maybe. I'm only delighted you're on this board to bring us back down to earth and hit us all with a dose of reality Murkey - you're quite right a poor display in the play-off semi quite CLEARLY outweighs the fact that Willock was highly-regarded as one of the better strikers in League Two only 6 months ago.

Let see, errrrr ...... I have see him play agasint Hartlepool on 29th April (in my bid to jinx Brentford which I did!) he was s**t then.  Brentford fans was happy on their message board that they have released him! that will stop the arguement now.  Peterboro fans said he was s**t in League 2 & was glad they sold him to Brentford for £50k.

Keigan Parker  - Blackpool
Karl Hawley - Carlisle
Andrew Keogh - Scunthorpe
Billy Sharp - Scunthorpe
Pawel Abbott - Huddersfield
Steve Brooker - Bristol City
Colin Kazim-Richards - Brighton

These are the striker that would do an job in the Championship, the rest would not cut it (expect Forest striker, but they on an big wages, so its no go for us).
Willock wasn't given a chance at Griffin Park, he hardly played many games since his move due to their established forward line. I don't know which Posh fans you've been talking to as the general consensus when he left was that his sale had ended their chances of promotion from League Two.

All those mentioned COULD cope with Championship football I agree.....I still find it unbelievable though that Bridges is NOT on that list - he'd be my number 1 target if the fee and switch was realistic.

Will need a big pinch if it is, he is by far the best name mentioned on this thread....surely we would be in dreamland?!!!!

Quote from a Bradford City site :- Should City find £250,000 down the back of the sofa then Scunthorpe United will be getting a bid for Billy Sharp or so one Munchausenist has told us. The same curious fellow pointed to Craig Fagan of Hull giving up the Championship life to play for the Bantams. Neither are going to happen.

£250k for Billy Sharp then, surely this is in the reach of SUFC. With over £2.2M in advance season ticket sales, and not one player yet bought with cash. Would love to see Sharp at the Hall next season.

Just hope Tilly/Brush can pull it off again. Imagine Eastwood, Ricketts and Sharp to choose from this season!!!

To be honest though, i can't see the Iron parting with him, but you never know...

Simon Francis was bought for an undisclosed fee IIRC...

Suffolk & gbshrimper, out of curiosity and desperation, where did you hear we are going to sign Billy Sharp?

I don't want to be a wet blanket as far as signing Billy Sharp goes. But I think we need a heavy dose of realism here, IMO Sharp will be valued at a minimum of 500k, and if a bidding war ensues then like as not a lot more than that.

Bear in mind Izale McLeod has been subject of bids of 1.35million, and we all think that Freddy should be worth more than a million. So why should Scunthorpe sell for way less than his market value?
rock.gif

In the words of Kevin Keegan I would love it if he came to Roots Hall but doubt it.

His strike partner Andy Keogh could be another matter however.

Whos to say we havent bid that much? I am under the impression that there is plenty of transfer funds for Tilly, bearing in mind only Francis has cost us.
