None taken. We've got four or five quality players; none of whom play up front.

Actually, it looks like we've just lost the biggest jewel in our little crown... Ho hum

Ahh, Mr. Zakuani is heading west, it would seem...  Sounds like quite a prospect!

So, who are the quality players; and how did Glyn Garner get on last season?  Always thought he was a good'un when he was with the Shakers...

Don't you know the rules? That sort of talk should be in the All Leagues Forum - the moderator will have this thread moved in a jiffy if you're not careful.

So with every stiker in league one named on this thread someone has to be correct. i'd happily have trundle, hayter or sharp.

Kiegan Parker is only forward I can think of in terms of playing for League One club & we have to pay an fee for him. Brentford would be gladly to pay us ££££ to take Willock & Owusu away from them

Abbott plays for a league 1 club, has 1 year left on his contract and would incur a fee

I'm probably wrong, but it seems that Abbott is definitely there for the taking.  The only barrier could be another team with more financial clout wanting him or that he is not particularly local.  Saying that, Ricketts, Francis and Hammell wouldn't be considered local either.

It's going to be Abbott.

..not if you read the interview with him on their official site. Talks about being settled in the area with his family and young son. Keen to stay there. Wouldn't rule it out completely as he is obviously unsettled enough to go an talk to MK Scum, however he doesn't sound very keen to move.

I think Owusu is the no.1 bet - Tilly likes him as he went for him 12 months ago, he's got a year left on his contract so would command a fee, he's played at Championship level previously with Reading and maybe most importantly he may be satisfied initially with not being 1st choice - or at least would not perhaps have an automatic expectation of being in the 1st team.

Quote[/b] ]Harsh - very, very, very harsh. Willock's a decent player, sure he's not in the same league as Eastwood or Ricketts but put it this way I'd much rather have him as a back-up than Lee Steele, (god forbid) Matt Harrold and even Wayne Gray.

Have you seen Brentford Vs Swansea play-off 2nd Leg mate? I cannot believe what I was watching, he so ******g useless, he an Conference standard player at best.  I rather have good conference striker than Willock!
Yes you're right, one poor display in the play-off semi 2nd leg surely proves Willock is a complete donkey. Of course fortunately none of our half-decent strikers EVER have a poor game do they - obviously if Freddy put in a poor one sometime he would fully deserve to be released from his contract so he can go and find a club who play more to his level like the Conference or Essex Senior League maybe. I'm only delighted you're on this board to bring us back down to earth and hit us all with a dose of reality Murkey - you're quite right a poor display in the play-off semi quite CLEARLY outweighs the fact that Willock was highly-regarded as one of the better strikers in League Two only 6 months ago.

I'm gonna leave you all now and give myself a good talking to!!!!!

Let see, errrrr ...... I have see him play agasint Hartlepool on 29th April (in my bid to jinx Brentford which I did!) he was s**t then. Brentford fans was happy on their message board that they have released him! that will stop the arguement now. Peterboro fans said he was s**t in League 2 & was glad they sold him to Brentford for £50k.

Keigan Parker - Blackpool
Karl Hawley - Carlisle
Andrew Keogh - Scunthorpe
Billy Sharp - Scunthorpe
Pawel Abbott - Huddersfield
Steve Brooker - Bristol City
Colin Kazim-Richards - Brighton

These are the striker that would do an job in the Championship, the rest would not cut it (expect Forest striker, but they on an big wages, so its no go for us).

Why the need to repeat when we had already had every single name? Interesting that Brentford seem to have plenty of strikers though with enough ambition to make the playoffs last year..........

(PS, Willock was also very highly rated even as Peterborough got relegated from League one with a dismal team. Saw him play a couple of times and he looked very sharp. One time I saw him play, Bayo Akinfenwa was on the other team and he produced a fairly commonly seen toss Akinfenwa performance.)

I feel sure its one of:

Akinfenwa
Ibehre
Abbott
Harrold
Greenacre

Looking at that list of players from league one and having thought about my five original selections, I am now convinced it is either:

1) Chris Greenacre
2) Lloyd Owusu
or
3) Matt Harold (simply due to all the rumours)

Lee Trundle or Leon Knight
don't be suprised i have read this on other rumour sites that they are going to join southend. 1 of them that is
leon knight is aparently fallen out wit kenny jackett and we are among the clubs intrested in his situation
