SUFC closing in on League 1 striker

Quote[/b] (Shrimpbizkit @ July 13 2006,11:45)]The Echo says Tilly wants a midfielder, defender and striker still. Surely then this striker coming in has to be someone with a decent record not just a squad player if Tilly is going to rely on 3 strikers with maybe Bradbury as back up.
If that's the case, then the Robinson story could have some weight to it..

What about Adam Boyd from Hartlepool? Good player, Hartlepool surely wont be looking for too much for him and would be a good back up. He scored 24 league goals in the 2004/2005 season with Hartlepool but didnt play too much last season as he had a blood infection which kept him out for most of it. He's still young, 23 I think and obviously has talent.

I cant see us signing somebody like Abbott because I doubt Ricketts would of signed for us unless he is going to play every week.

Good call mighty shrimper, I do not know if Boyd has already moved on or not, but he is probably the best league 1 player that has been forgotten, and I would very much like him at Roots Hall next year.

The same Adam Boyd that fluffed an absolute sitter from about 5 yards at the hall last season?

No thanks
