SUFC closing in on League 1 striker

Further speculation etc.  I noticed that Bristol Rovers are keen to bring in another player, however before that can happen they need to offload a current player (who's wages are possibly a little steep): Linky-dinky

Now, despite official comments to the contrary, could Agogo be talking to us?

The plot thickens!

The report says:

"We've got one player who's talking to a couple of clubs and, although it's not a nice situation, the budget dictates we need to move a few out."

Could that be Southampton and us?

Couldn't agree more.

Less than a month until the season starts and we are a good 4 players short...

Anyone concerned??...

No.
No definately not concerned yet, the team has just got back from Bermuda so we would be hoping to see a couple of signings in the next week or so. If not the i wouldnt be worried, but nervous

snap

(although I do reckon he is more likely to end up at Preston with Simpson than with us after Leeds complete their annual swoop on the Preston team)

Matt Harrold is playing for Yeovil tonight in a pre season game so hopefully that rules him out for us

If we don't sign anyone else by the time the transfer window shuts (at the end of September?), then maybe I'll worry. It would be nice to sign four more players tomorrow but if we started the season with the current squad I don't think I'd be that concerned.

I'm not that concerned at all. I'd like a couple more faces but we have got rid of some more injury prone squad members and got some new boys in who seem less injury prone so that's a few more potential problems filled.

I'd also pick up on something theartistformerlyknownaswhatever made in another post. He said that he wouldn't be that bothered who we signed and would trust in Tilly's judgement. To be honest, I was more bothered about previous signings. I reckon the team and matchday squad is getting close to looking good enough and any other players, in my eyes, will be a bonus. As long as we have the first XI filled by decent players and a few subs then I'm pretty happy. I'll let Tilly worry about the squad.

Impressive stats on this thread though. Who would have thought that such a poorly focussed news story could get this many pages!!

Did we actually get to the bottom of where "Suffolk Shrimper" had herad that we were "definitely" signing Billy Sharp?

He seemed very convincing. I was beginning to feel quite excited!

Come on....someone must have some concrete info they can share.

I have a feeling a deal for a striker has fallen through and that we may have to wait a little while longer to get someone in. Hope I'm wrong.

I'm sure he has been mentioned a dozen times but Karl Hawley at Carlisle, has along with Bridges rejected an extension to his deal.....bagged 22 goals last season.

He fits the bill in every respect......could it be him?

Answers on a postcard to........

The Echo says Tilly wants a midfielder, defender and striker still. Surely then this striker coming in has to be someone with a decent record not just a squad player if Tilly is going to rely on 3 strikers with maybe Bradbury as back up.
