Cautious good news. But not worth a celebration. Better than a no, but it remains to be seen what that requirement will mean to Ron and Sainsburys.

Thank you for that. I can fully understand why you would say I'm coming across as a depressent as regards my view on FF. Please believe me It is not anything at all against the Club . Of course I'd like to see everything that is being put forward but we are dealing with you know who. As I and others have repeatedly said he hasn't a personal bean to his name everything he has had is what's been given to him . Again as I have said I know of two councillors who are not on side with him at all but whether the majority are I don't know. Look at the people who he has stitched up , Tara Brady, Gary Lockett both walked away owed a substantial sum between them. Sainsburys have given him in the region of £8m and wheres that gone when that maybe could have funded the sweetener. I'm convinced the hotel and retail park is ******** frankly and as I said earlier I doubt the stadium will be built even if we have 2 or 3 sepearate go aheads down the line and we're left at best with a 3 sided ground which won't be supported. He can't fund the sweetener so how the hell is he going to fund the 4th side plus hotel plis the retail?? If it happens ( which it won't) the royals want more than the sweetener offered. When it does fail The Council's reputation with the Royals will be tarnished thru undermining them.

:nope: You don't do irony, then......? Interesting that you refer to "...the Club". Why do I strongly suspect that you aren't actually a Southend fan, more a Ron hater?

Not sure of the details yet. But sounds like the Council want more of the TCC earlier on into the project. They have put this to Ron and if he agree's, then the plans will be passed. If not, then the plans will be rejected.

So Ron has no choice now. More upfront or no development.

haha to be honest that's a good play by the council. Ron will have to find some money from somewhere.

I'm expecting a Bentley to go up on ebay shortly. (and not Daniel)

So as I said in the 1st post.

Poker player Ron must now build soon or be shown as a busted flush!

We will really see soon what type of man he really is ! :finger:

kind of what I said. Not surprised its been passed but lets see if he has the sweetener in tow when the council wants it. And no I donb't want the Club to fail just don't like how he goes about his business.

Surely as the last statement came from Ron and Sainsburys the money will be available, you don't play a hand like this with out the funds to back it up. If Ron cocks it up now his name will be dirt he has just negotiated a 2.5 million discount on the project not a bad days work.
Let the diggers roll.

Ron keeps the club afloat by paying 60k a month for its survival, negotiates a much better deal for the club with the council to build us a brand new stadium without him we wouldn't have a club #RONISMYHERO

This still needs to be passed by the home office. We thought that a formality first time round...

Just as long as Sainsburys don't mind paying then. A cautious step forward, more of a 'phew' than a 'hurrah'.

I bet Ron was wearing some JPT final merch as a subtle reminder.

I think Sainsbury's were paying anyway. Have to see this as good news. Think Ron's done as well out of this as he could have hoped. Saved 2.5m from the original 6m, and doesn't have to pay it all up front.

Talk about long winded no wonder it takes so long to get anything done...They will agree to grant planning again providing RM agrees to the TCC changes they have now asked for.

1 mill when the first spade goes in on the retail units
.5 when the first unit opens.
1. mill when unit 6 or 50% of the total floor space is open.
.5 mill when the penultimate unit opens (this is so he does not just leave one unit empty)
.5 when the fourth stand is open.

No guarantees that will get any of the above monies needed by them but they will set a time limit of I think it is 3 years for completion.

That decision should be enough for Sainsbury to cough up a bit earlier and also sort out Mr Prospects and Pizza Man. Not sure we should be celebrating just yet though. Still quite a bit of red tape to go through. And possible judicial review.

So technically - nothing is passed and no up front money means no new stadium.
Do we know the time frame placed on this?
