What is the point in posting what your mate said on a match report thread? Especially when it is total gash?

The point is if have been going with my mate for years and 9 times out of 10 we are of a similar mindset. He doesn't post on here so I posted his thoughts on his behalf .

i'd echo most of the thoughts on here. my one issue is that zone in front of the defence i posted about at half time, and that's where the goal came from.
I thought Atkinson should have come on for McGlashan to allow Lenny to just sit in front of the defence but it didn't happen and it cost us.
For me Ferdinand should probably do that job.
i thought after about 30 minutes we were good but we did get over-run in midfield and seemed to have three defenders against one attacker so Ferdinand seemed the most obvious one to step out ahead of the other two.

what an amazing block by Barrett second half, that gained us two points.
Sadly we had the chances and didn't take them, penalty was a shocker, Cox's looked easy but was behind a post so if others say it wasn't i'll listen to them.
Fortune looks just what we need.
overall, a positive performance and a point gained

Elf n Safety I'm afraid, it had actually been tweeted that the walk wasn't going to take place but we decided to go with it just before kick off. The rain really wasn't helpful when you've got youngsters to consider. It's amazing how sticky and slippery that surface gets, particularly in front of the South stand.

The penalties will now be taking place against Chesterfield hopefully.

I'll be there +brother & son....good on you OBL

Barrett looked everyone of his 35 or whatever it is years today - forever chasing back and yes, I do recall a fantastic tackle in second half - he will need all of his seven days off.
Inniss - simply outstanding display, what a player he looks.
Yes I know it came hard and fast but at the level Cox has played, that should go in.
Other than that, encouraging if not inspiring.

. Yep me as well Cox should have scored

because we have been doing that for years!

About time Rigsby changed the tactics then.

I'm sick of it.

What a difference when Posh equalised.

None of this heading for the corner tripe. They desperately tried to score the winner and very nearly succeeded.

A positive attitude in life is all important.

Thought Innis had a very good game, won everything in the air.
Ferdinand was very comfortable all game and read everything.
Leonard was star man with the tackles he made. I feel he has to cover a little bit too much for Wordsworth in the middle.
Fortune did well when he came on and think Mooney will have to settle for bench now.

Unfortunately think it may be time to rest Barrett as he was pulled all over the place yesterday and let us try Innis/Ferdinand in a back four. This would allow us to play two up top again now that we have fortune?

Also I don't think we work enough on getting the ball to mcglashlan enough to utilise his pace. We do it 3-4 times a game but we should plan to do it

No doubt you live life by this mantra, I can tell by your posts.

We did attack at 1-0. Did you not see the chances for Glash and Cox.

We attacked Oxford at 2-1. the keeper made two great saves from Barrett and Demetriou.

We attacked Millwall at 2-1 and O'Neil scored.

Oxley was hardly under siege late on Yesterday

Agreed their goal came against the run of play, we weren't under any pressure and had been dominating the last 20 minutes or so.

THIS JUST IN : Side losing 1-0 going into injury time might push forward for an equalizer!

AND FINALLY : Side who just equalized in injury time have their tails up and might go for a winner!

One thing I would add, though, is that we really have to get out of the habit of arguing with the ref and switching off.

This happened again yesterday when we took the ball into the corner.

We should have learnt from the 'ball out of play' incident at home to Burton last season.

Good game, dissapointing to concede late on, but probably a fair result on the overall balance of play. A word for Peterborough's no 10 who was excellent, best player I've seen this season, a bit like Jack Payne on acid. Luckily he left his shooting boots at home.

Oxley 7 - Kicking first half was patchy, other than that he didn't do much wrong. No chance for the goal and his handling was very good.

Demetriou 7 - Decent, if unspectacular performance. One shooting chance which he scuffed.
Barrett 8 - Didn't put a foot wrong and one excellent block shortly before we scored.
Ferdinand 7 - Looks a class act, certainly with the ball at his feet. My only annoyance was his continued arguing with the ref following a foul in the first half. Yes the decision was contentious, but he should be setting a better example and was lucky not to be booked.
Inness 7 - Won everything in the air, though with Peterborough's small front line I wouldn't have expected anything less. On the floor he looked OK if a bit safety first. Is he better than Thompson? debatable, but he does add some much needed aerial presence.
Coker 7 - Got caught out once early on, other than that a solid performance.

Leonard 7 - Ordinary first half, good defensively but poor going forward. Improved after half time, one brilliant run to set up the late Cox chance.
Wordsworth 7 - Ok, negatives first. He offers little to nothing defensively and the pen miss was woeful. Positives, the one centre mid player we've got with a real goal threat, and popped up when it mattered to score.

McGlashan 8 MOM - Impressed me again, Peterborough couldn't handle his pace and we're reduced to persistent fouls. My only slight niggle was the chance early second half when he shot with other players better placed.
Mooney 6 - Struggled to make an impact today. Annoyed that he was offside from a goal kick early in the second half.
McLaughlin 6 - As with Mooney, he struggled to make much impact on the game despite working hard.

Subs
Cox 7 - Made a difference and was involved in the build up for the goal. Had a chance to make it 2-0, I was sitting right behind it and it definitely wasn't a sitter as some have claimed.
Fortune 7 - Like Cox made a positive impact, he looks a real handful and has got a decent touch too. He's certainly not the donkey some were making him out to be. On first impressions he looks a decent short term signing, he certainly looks more likely to make a difference from the bench than Williams has.
O'Neill - Not enough time to rate.

I'm going to give Brown credit for the double substitution. After the pen miss, heads could have gone down. The subs made a positive difference and sparked the move which lead to the goal.

However I'm going to admonish him for the final sub. We were already sitting back, McGlashan was our best option of an out ball on the the break. Once he went off we had no threat going forward, sat deeper and deeper, before the almost inevitable sucker punch. We could even have lost, Moncur's late effort was too close for comfort.

I wondered if anyone else thought this. I said exactly the same thing to my mate when he went off. Maybe Brown or Clarkson saw something we didn't re his fitness but to me when he is playing like that you dont take him off, not unless we have a two goal cushion.

Also- how nice to have a match thread that isn't all about 'Oxley could have done better'

Personally I would have left McGlashan on, unless he was injured, just in case the opposition equalised and he might have created a winner.
