First off, 1-1 was probably a fair result. Peterborough's finishing was dire and ours could have been a lot better, but there you go.

Nobody had a bad game effort wise and the defence looked a lot more solid than of late especially as Inniss played himself in after a bit of shaky start. He was dominant in the air and his ground play got better as the game went on. Ferdinand did lots of experienced stuff and stopped things from developing early but he and Barrett do lack in pace when turned, and that happened a few times today.

Highlights for me were Mcglashan's pace and determination, Wordsworth producing some pure moments of skill, Lenny being at the top of his game with one lung bursting run in the second half, but at the very top of my highlights was the introduction of Fortune and Cox. They both showed us what we have been lacking up front and kudos to PB for persevering in getting the Fortune deal across the line.

Down side? A midfield that doesn't crowd the opposition or get it's foot in early enough. We just let Peterborough have the ball there and run at us. Whether Timlin will fill that void remains to be seen.

Throwaway thought - What on earth was that Posh mascot on, he never stopped all match.

First time this season at home we looked like a team, and the understanding between a settled side with experienced coming through.Innis who had a good game appears to help take the pressure off Oxley.Wordsworth makes a big difference in midfield good goal ,shame about the penalty miss.Mcglashen if played right is really showing good form. For the first time we had options with Cox and F West. Overall an encouraging display apart from the late equaliser .Let's hope this is the start of our season.

yes it does feel like we dropped 2 points today, but to be honest, I would have someones hand off if we were offered a point before the game. I'm not to down beat about the result, it seems less pain full than some of the games last season, when we turned well earned draws into extra time losses.

The real test to see if we have turned the corner, will be if we can improve our performances and pick up some points on the road in our next 4 away games.

Better than I have seen for much of the season. Midfield is weak and only the energy of Lenny gets us out of trouble. Mooney did ok as did most. Cox and Fortune show a different level though. We need to get that midfield battle won.

Good report and exactly the way I saw it

Shame about that late equaliser.
Really liking mcglashan and his new found fire and determination.
Innis was my MOM dominant display
Poor penalty....so poor
A word on Cox. ...showed that quality and composure to assist the goal, his chance was a real tough one lenny fired the ball low and hard behind his run...tough one.
Good support too today.

Agree with the rest of your post apart from Peterborough deserved a draw. If anyone deserved a point this week it was Oxford.

Some good defending by us today. Inniss showed more confidence and looks to be the commanding CB we all want. Won every header he challenged for and caused problems in their box winning us a couple of corners. Played sensible after his yellow.

Ferdinand read the game well with some nice interceptions. Oxley was out fast to block that one-on-one, giving the guy no time to settle and bend it in the far corner.

Really impressed with Fortune and Cox looked lively. Involved twice for our goal. As others have said the one he missed came fast and slightly behind.

Yes it does feel like 2 points dropped but lots of positives and Ranger still to come. Make sure you go along on Tuesday will be well worth £10 just to see our new signings and some of the youth.

Well, I enjoyed the match and although disappointed with the outcome, we were worth the point and if we had held out for the last three minutes we would be 13th and not fourth from bottom. The midfield of Leonard and Wordsworth looks good and it was the best I have seen McGlashen play. Oxley seems to be settling down and Inniss is an interesting prospect. I am now more confident of a better season ahead.

Wordy misses a penalty though which I guess could be described as being on a plate. I wish Adam B would take the pens, or Lenny.....
Wordsworth used to take the penalties for Colchester. Nothing wrong with him taking it today. Their goalkeeper saved one last week too so just maybe a little credit should go his way? I don't want to see Barrett taking them, he doesn't have the history. Lenny clearly doesn't fancy it.

Didn't go as I'm away but my mate just rang and said it was a very poor game. We didn't deserve the win and again just sat back and same old got punished.

Well, I make your mate wrong. It was a game we should have won had we not succumbed in injury time.

A very hectic day for me, what with sorting out various bits and pieces and involvement of Junior Blues members in the day. Well done to our flag bearers, a difficult task when it was being done for the first time, especially with so many mascot parents.

I have to confess to not watching the game as much as usual because of stuff that was going on, but, from what I saw McGlashan and Demetriou had very good games. I really like Inniss and he's starting to make his presence felt more in the opposition goal area, and we're starting to understand how he can benefit us.

Almost a carbon copy of the penalty being awarded from Tuesday, but rather more emphatic. Shame it couldn't be converted but at least we didn't let our heads drop and kept at it.

Oxley - 7, a better performance, getting stronger
Demetriou - 8, lots of potential, needs to work on the final ball
Inniss - 7.5, great header and getting back into the swing of things
Ferdinand - 7.5, goes about things calmly and quietly
Barrett - 7.5, a solid performance from Barrett with one great block/challenge near the end
Coker - 7, more composed that Tuesday
McGlashan - 8.5, had him as my MOTM, three runs ended up with him face down so Peterborough obviously thought he was a threat, and he certainly looked it
Leonard - 8, typically Lenny like, some good work and a great run to set Cox up
Wordsworth - 7.5, managed the full 90 which is good, especially after an early knock. Two in two for him and hopefully this will continue
McLaughlin - 7.5, often get overlooked on the wing and has more success if playing narrower
Mooney - 7, looked to be carrying a bit of a knock as he was subbed. Worked hard...again

Subs:
Cox for Mooney - 7, he'll be kicking himself for that miss, but it was behind him and not as easy as it appeared
Fortune for McLaughlin - 7.5, liked the look of him, playing just off the last defender's shoulder and a presence in the box
O'Neill for McGlashan - no rating as not on very long

Officials - seemed ok, goodness wasn't the ref short though?!!!

It's all about opinions Rigsby and mine was spawned from the muck grime and pylons of the West stand. Can't comment about Oxford as I couldn't go to that one and in any case this is about today's game.:smiles:

One thing that did disappoint me today. The East stand....Yes you supported your team and PB but it took until the 34th minute for someone to shout out Judas.

This is not good enough. People like Fry should not be given time to settle and we must look to test him early doors. Must do better.

Have to say, all the other stands clapped the JBs during their half time walk, including the Peterborough fans, on our way back, EXCEPT much of the East.

Thought the rules for this competition prevent making too many changes from previous league game - something like 6 must play . So not many youth players I would think.

Tomorrow's fans in the making. Great effort OBL and your chums. What happened to the penalty competition?

By the way, the ref was probably the shortest I have seen at RH for many a year. He had huge shoulder muscles which may have justified some of the comments from the west about his right hand habits.

Apologies, but that's because we were all tucking into our smoked salmon and champagne!

Better performance by all but concerned about our central midfield, time and time today, and Tuesday, we appeared to be out numbered and they were allowed to run through us. We miss a midfield "enforcer " AKA Deegan/ Timlin or the industry of Atkinson, but happy with the effort, and as others have said good subs at the right time.

I'm not sure, but it might be you have to start 6 next Saturday. There will be youth on the subs bench at least.

Firstly I don't get this thing about "can't fault the effort today" - this is the bare minimum for a professional player in every game surely ?
Some good things today , but we sit so deep and have too few bodies in centre midfield that every game at home we seem to have teams running at us at will.
Nevertheless , second half we could have won it.
Leonard , Innis and Ferdinand were stand outs for me today.
Keeper had little to do due to their poor finishing , so it's an odd thing to say , but he doesn't look like he inspires confidence.
I also have to say with a very heavy heart that Barratt is not up to the pace any longer in my opinion.
Whether that's because of 3 games in 8 days , I'm not sure , but apart from one excellent tackle , he was turned time and again and left floundering.
Other points of note.
Mooney worked hard and Fortune / Cox look like they could work well together.
Verdict , Posh played better football than us but we maybe just deserved a draw.
