My point about defensive players v attacking players. You make a fair point but a big issue is that we have signed too many players who don't seem comfortable making runs and passes forward. Also very few players who are good finishers. The goal scoring career records for this current squad is really woeful and pathetic. Kevin has presumably sanctioned these signings and must take a fair share of the blame. The big problem is that we are stuck with too many of them on longish contracts. It's going to be a he'll of a job to turn this club into one that can challenge for promotion even in this non league competition.
still have a club .What we don't have is a decent manager or team. Absolutely shameful. What we need is a complete well almost clear out that includes the manager.Feel embarassed by tis result and performance by the club. Supporters will start to drift away. It's ok everyone, because we still have a club!
Don't worry, the dynamic duo Husin and Miley will be back next week to drive us even further backwards, Maher has got to go.
The Cowleys are on a different planet for passion and tactics, never thought i would say that!
Just saying that King Kev will use yesterday’s debacle to shoe horn back in his absolute favourite two negative midfielders. KAF was loved at Daggers but as usual as soon as anyone comes here they get ruined…..he really is the worst, inconsistent, boring manager around but we’ve got to put up with the crowd reducer for a year longer than anyone else because he’s a so called Southend legend….most jobs you’d get the elbow being this ineffectiveSlagging off two players who didn't play any part in that debacle is an interesting angle to take.
Haven't you been championing for the apparently more attack-minded KAF to be a regular starter? The same player who today looked out of his depth against Isthmian League opposition?
A nasty looking defeat? You can say that again. Still, at least it doesn't appear to be an injury...SOUTHEND United wing-back Gus Scott-Morriss suffered a nasty looking defeat during the Shrimpers' 1-0 defeat to Sittingbourne.

And neither should you. Anything like that should stay in the dressing room. Publicly belittling professional players destroys confidence and decimates team morale. You absolutely can blame Maher for that! I don’t see him balling players out, subbing them off before half time etc! If he’s in charge, he must be in charge! He’s pathetic on the touchline unless he’s upset about a decision and in interview he doesn’t take responsibility. Thanks for the memories. Bye!
So what 1 or 2 players is Maher calling out, because IMO, the worse players out there were Gubbins and Kendall, and let's face it, GSM, Taylor and Hopper were pretty poor as well.
Harsh to say Coker did nothing. He put it a few decent balls into the area. Also, Coker was part of the midfield that played Dagenham and did fine with Morton. However, he got left out Tuesday and today. He gave KAF a chance against a low league side. He is using rotation, he should be able to trust those in his squad, again the level of oposition is poor and theres a lot of fixture congestion so use the squad.
He couldve, but when Coker came on, he did nothing?
Well it’s their own fault for not beating a part timer 3 level lower ….And neither should you. Anything like that should stay in the dressing room. Publicly belittling professional players destroys confidence and decimates team morale.
