Wonder if the phone will ring tommorow?
Part 1 of my mates know how has come true, now we wait for Winkleman to speak to Ron
I believe Ron and Tilly have recently had contractual agreements (about a week before the season ended) and Tilson has signed a new contract so I think it's a bit longer than this being his final season. How long does he have on his current contract? I suspect this is the final season, UNLESS we're top of the table come April
How long does he have on his current contract?
ok, thanks for clearing up the length of contract, but as we all know...that dont mean anything as far as football is concerned, but the point was rhetorical.Steve signed a new contract in December 2006 and this expires in 2011.
Tilson Extends Contract
Ron On Tilson's New Contract
In March 2008 these contracts were reviewed and extended to run for 5 years for both Steve and Paul.
5 Year Extention
odious, long-haired c Unt Winkleman
Hadn't crossed my mind but the more I think about it the more I like the idea!Chris Powell.
Experienced, model professional commanding an awful lot of respect within the game, a rising stock as a talented coach with a bucketful of connections.
Wouldn't surprise me if Dean Austin took over, if T+B left.
Where have youbeen the last year ?we've been on the verge of having a new ground for 15 years or more still ain't got nowhere with that.
also more importantly, the consequences of going to mk dons, is quite interesting, there not a sleeping giant, they are a false team based on a shocking piece of decision by the FA and FL. subsequently they are hated by many many many football fans, and then people that go on be associated with them, gets lots of stick elsewhere, would they want that, he looks such a nice man does tilly
Couldn't agree more. Surely Tilly & Brush have too much self-respect to be involved with the Franchise Scum?
Matt
I dont view MK Dons the same as you. I also believe that this happens a lot in football,ok at lower levels, where the benefactors move onto another club.
Ok, historically they didnt start there, but would you rather the team implode and go out of business? If Southend Council said no to FF and we had no stadium to play in, then what? choice a) ground share with a team who you hate or, b) a nice shiney, out of the box, purpose built stadium in another town with potentially bigger support?
Are you telling me Arsenal, Chelsea, Bolton, even Southampton and Leicester arnt 'franchise' teams. What will we be in our shiney new corporate stadium? Football is a business, end of. If Sufc wernt here, you would go and watch your nearest team..Canvey, Chelmsford, Basildon etc...
I also dont think Paul Ince is someone without integrity..just someone who plays 'the game' to his advantage.
Good luck to him, good luck to MK Dons..even better luck to us.
I think he did OK until a new chairman came in, and wanted to change everything around.Dave the Shrimper said:Wasnt he a bit of a flop at Farnborough or somewhere like that.....
The thing with MK Dons is, though, that they didn't start anywhere near Milton Keynes, they were from Wimbledon, 70 miles to the south. All the examples you mention do at least play in roughly the same area as the club started. Just because a team moves stadium doesn't make them a 'franchise', it's when they up sticks and move to a different part of the country...
