Remember going to Watford on New Years Day 1974 , 12 Leigh Boys went in the Watford Rookery End and stood right in the middle of all the Watford . At 5 to 3 they let out the chant U, N , I , T , E , D , after a good few punches being thrown the Leigh Boys were then escorted back to the Southend at the other end of the ground .

You lot weren't really boys though S, you were all about 19-20 years old for that game.

is it definitely FOR the Southend away, or FOLLOW Southend away? Ive never known which :D
I remember back about 5 years ago, away at Peterborough, we first started to sing
We are Southend away
Were Southend away
Were Southend away.

Which is much better than Follow SUFC away, and I still always sing WERE SOUTHEND AWAY.

So if you hear someone singing WE ARE SOUTHEND AWAY, then it's me, come over and say hi.

We've got Husin, super Noor Husin, I just don't think you understand .....

( based on the super John Mcginn song ) Scotland , Villa etc.

We've got Husin, super Noor Husin, I just don't think you understand

This is the trouble
It’s the next line I don’t get?

He’s from Afghanistan

And then a line which I think rather undersells the refugee experience of having to flee your home and apply for asylum in a foreign country and one he possibly may not appreciate fans glibly singing about given that he still has family back in Afghanistan living under their rule.
