Songs and Chants

Got to say there was one disappointment for me last night. Though it's always good to support the players, can't understand how David Martin got a song when in two years, nothing has been sung about Colin. Must have felt a kick in the teeth for the lad who's been brilliant for us. Come on guys, get creative.....
It feels like there should be a song for Andeng Ndi to Doh Wah Diddy…

His Jersey Martin 25 a great reminder for the protest on Martin out on 25 mins.
What he did when called for was good, and his experience behind the back four made them even more confident on the ball, but Maidenhead were as rubbish as Kidderminster and it took them until way into the second half to muster a shot on goal.
Personally Miley was my MOM

This thread has gone quiet and so have the songs at Roots Hall this season. Be good to get the atmosphere going again and with Christmas coming was trying to be inspired.

Only came up with a couple of newbies.

Maher Christmas- everyone.

I saw Currie kissing Benno ...

Not Christmas, but can't believe this hasn't been thought of...

(tune of Hokey Cokey)
Oh Oli Oli Coker
Oh Oli Oli Coker
Oh Oli Oli Coker
Shoot from distance, goal Southend.

Over to the creative experts .....

Let me ask Southend fans a question. When I was a young boy going to see the club, one of my favourite bits was pre-game when the MC (not the current guy who is very bad) would read out the names of the starting eleven, and the crowd would cheer after every name.

What happened to that and can it come back please?

Way back in the day we were away to Derby County in a Cup game and the Derby Police and the Derby stewards were pretty hot at insisting on silencing abusive (swearing) chants. So come their goal kicks where it would have been 'You're **** Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh' it was adapted to 'You're not very good Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh'. I actually prefer that to the original as it always reminds me of Derby away. That was also the day I had a Maserati air horn shoved down my jeans by my so called mates as I was the only one that looked a bit normal out of us all to dodge the random body searches.. Oh the joys of youth.
What luck the second cup visit coincided with Tommy Docherty getting caught playing away with the Derby coaches wife.
All day we sung,
"Who's up Mrs Brown
Who's up Mrs Brown
Tommy Tommy Docherty
Tommy Tommy Docherty"

Back in the promotion season of 1971/72 there was a song that went through every Southend player sung to the tune of 'He's Got The Whole World In His Hands' .
