The club is on borrowed time. We don't own Roots Hall we are relying on RM to build the ground to secure the clubs future and that is as far away as its ever been.

To be fair we have been saying that for 4 years, things are probably as stable now as they have been in a long time financially.

Will be interesting to see if we have any wage issues over the summer.

Sainsbury are worth billions so I cannot see where the hold up begins or ends?
They are also very careful who they do business with as they have to answer to shareholders and maintain a whiter than white public image.....it could be argued they are exact opposite of our very own leader

But you also buy any potential profit in FF, which could run into the millions. Why do you think RM is still involved?

Indeed.

Which is why I laugh when people on here say "who would buy the club" ??

There would be plenty of interest.

You are clearly unaware that the biggest thieves in business are the biggest businesses. Success is more often than not gained by treacherous behaviour and the enlisting of good lawyers.

Until someone comes forward and offers a realistic sum of money (i.e. not £1) then talks of a change of ownership are pointless.

How do you know £1 is not a realistic sum of money. You buy the liabilities along with the assets. You may be over-pricing there.

Exactly.

The club has a negative asset value of about -£9m!!

You do like to have it both ways don't you? You're saying we don't know that £1 isn't a realistic value because the club has a negative asset value. I then point out that the club is worth more than that because of the profit that can be made from FF. And then you say that that is the reason people would buy the club.

So is £1 a realistic value or not?

I didn't say whether or not a £1 is a realistic offer. I merely pointed out that the overall asset value of the club as it is, is about -£9m.

IF everything can be agreed with Prospects, businesses, shops and the Council. Then that changes things. I guess then it will be down to any potential new owner to decide if they can sort all that out, clear the debts and still make a tidy profit. If so, then perhaps the offer could be quite significant.

But, I think the problem we have is Ron cannot give up his slice of the pie. Meaning we are stuck with him, unless someone comes in with a stupid offer which will enable him to walk debt free and with a sizeable retirement fund. That will be the sticking point, as I think the figure Ron will want will be a million miles apart from any offer he may receive.

It's a crap situation. But I think Ron must be close to considering listening to offers. There clearly is real problems financially with this project and I would urge him to think about giving up a slice, to get things moving.

Because they had to fight Tescos for it.

I know you want to find any reason for it to be Sainsbury's fault, but they wanted a store so much to fight Tesco for years its odd they would want to delay this one.

It may not neccessarily be him, but so far we have not heard anything to suggest Sainsbury are dragging their heels.

No I don't want it to be Sainsburys fault. What I am pointing out is that many of the posters have an anti-RM agenda and are certain it is all his fault but do not have the facts to support their level of angst.

All I have tried to show is that there can be other factors and unless we know one way or another then hate campaigns are pointless and possibly misdirected.

Again all of our fans have got nothing better to do because we have no other signings we might as well start being mugs to Ron Martin.:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Should there be any reports that Sainsbury have caused any delay I am sure people will form different opinions and shift the blame.

Until then just posting details about other stores is no evidence they have caused an issue with ours.
