Ok, so why do you laugh when people say no-one would buy the club? They won't get it for a pound, and according to you, RM will want a huge amount for it.

For clarity, I actually think there may be a very small number of people willing to look at FF as a potential investment, but they would have to be serious retail property developers who have the cash to buy RM out and fund the fourth side of the stadium before they are likely to see any return. People like that are few and far between, and most of those will probably conclude it isn't worth the hassle.

Because clearly there would be plenty of interest in buying the club.

The question is, would any interested party actually be able to buy it.

So when people on here say "who would buy the club"....well plenty of people would want to. But first of all would Ron sell. Secondly would he sell at a "reasonable" sum.

I think the answer to both of those is probably no. That is what bothers me. We are stuck with him until the whole thing comes off. Or we all crash and burn...our club is basically being held at ransom to RM.

I know it's difficult to accept everybody, but I really can't see the point of this thread anymore. Fact - no matter what we say or do on here Ron will do (or not do) what he wants when he wants and he ain't going to tell us diddly until he feels like it. All that happens when this thread rears it's head again is we start getting arsey with each other with no end result. I realise that this will have absolutely no effect on the thread but I feel better for posting it.

It makes me laugh that owners have to prove there worth in respect of owning a football club , but those already in charge cant be outed if they fall foul of there own finances.

Ron martin is not fit to run a marathon let alone a football club. He is a chancer with grand ideas and shallow pockets and definately not the right man to take our beloved club foward. That sad thing is he wont sell for anything less than he put in and with debts such as ours we will be lucky to get someone to take that on.

In short barring a miracle of getting a very rich party interested then we are stuck with Ron and he is stuck with a club im sure he would walk away from if he wasnt so in debt.

Green if I could but it won't let me!

How do you know £1 is not a realistic sum of money. You buy the liabilities along with the assets. You may be over-pricing there.

Because a lot of the liabilities lie off of the books of the football club.

Besides the infamous £1 offer was specifically excluding most of those liabilities.

That's an interesting one. They are really peaking at their current state in my opinion.

For those who keep asking others on here to name a buyer for us......how many Orient fans would of named this guy as being interested in them beforehand?

Indeed, or that the One Direction bloke would buy Doncaster.

People want to own football clubs, they are a status symbol for people.

Besides the infamous £1 offer was specifically excluding most of those liabilities.

As we know much of the 10 million debt is owed to Ron Martin's other companies. If he sells the club £1 is not going to mean he will wipe those debts and there was indeed no mention of them clearing the debts.

That's the sticking point and why McBusted arent interested in buying the club.

For anyone interested in the shenanigans...

Had this from SBC this morning, after I enquired about whether planning permission would expire:

There is currently no extant planning permission for Fossetts Farm. Once the legal agreement for the 11/00538/EXTM application is completed and permission granted, the applicant will have 3 years to commence development before the permission expires.

The bit in red is interesting. So if I am reading it right, then there is no planning permission to build currently. The S106 "legal agreement" is still not in place, thus meaning the extension of the original planning permission has not been granted. So we are still a long way off anything happening by the looks of it.

Ron lives in a very nice house and drives very nice cars so clearly he is on wages somewhere!

What exactly is his rush to build FF?

I had to google what 'extant' meant:

so is this legal talk for
"There's currently no Planning Permission to build on Fossetts Farm. Once new Planning Permission is granted, building works will have to start in 3 years or that permission will also expire"?

The greater concern is that one of the cars on the drive way is a black cab - he must be working round the clock if thats the new income he is relying :work:

Remember a black cab can enter bus lanes so much better to use for London business meetings and the owner can always earn a few quid on their way home:winking:

Thanks for finding that out, that is what I thought the situation was as I remember seeing something similar on here probably about 2 years ago.
We are still as far away from a new ground as we have ever been. I can't see any work starting this year and maybe never starting at this rate.

I have just had a read through some of the threads on the Fossetts Farm section and the oldest threads are now over 10 years old!

Optimistically I would interpret it more as..

"There is currently no planning permission for Fossetts Farm. Once the S106 obligations for the 11/00538/EXTM application are met, permission will be granted, the applicant will then have 3 years to commence development before the permission expires."

The application for planning permission is still pending decision and the permission doesn't yet have an expiry date according to this link.

Of course it hasn't got an expiry date ........ it hasn't even got a start date !!!
