Sorry if someone has already said this, but why bother? He's damned if he does and he's damned if he dont. For what it's worth, I think he's a crook, but I do respect that he makes more effort than most chairmen to write lengthy candid reports on the OS from time to time. But if he's going to take the time to keep us updated and then gets heckled from all quarters based on the content of what he's just said, you can hardly blame him for keeping schtum and let everyone second guess the progress.

Oh did RM forget to mention that he was referring to the seasons in Australia? The first day of summer there will be Dec 21st, 2014 so he still has time to come good.

Technically you are correct , directly. However, I'd say he lies indirectly. I think he knows deadlines comes and goes when he sets or hints at them.

The Section 106 agreement between the Council and Club/Sainsbury has not even been completed and signed yet. So work will not be starting anytime soon.

The whole thing is a complete shambles and there is obviously something more serious holding things up. No doubt, money.

Can't understand why he has made so many daft statements over the years claiming start dates /contractors when clearly we are nowhere near.Even remember Tara B trying to shut him at one of the AGM'S when he made another start date claim.
What was the point of the contractors in 2 weeks one about 3 months ago?

Agree-all entirely logical. I can only think it's a money thing. Presumably we have to provide part of the finance and we don't have the cash

• Prospects/businesses & flats not secured yet
• Change of leadership at Sainsbury, resulting in a review of everything
• Perhaps a change of heart from Sainsbury
• S106 not completed

It could be any or all of the above. The only one we can be sure of is the S106. That came from the Council direct, which means work cannot start until that is sorted anyway. Either way Ron has spun us yet another line, with his "late spring" statement.

If thats the case then we probably never will have the money. So why make statements which i just bare faced lies. That is no way to run a business and no way to treat loyal customers who have put money in through thick and thin.

I still wish people would stop crawling up Rons backside. He is not a saviour and there are plenty of potential owners out there with crazy amounts of money its just about being lucky enough to find one like Reading Brighton Rotherham even Peterborough.
