never trusted him from day one people will have a go at me for this but we used it before a few years back,
WE WANT MARTIN OUT
Indeed, and also makes you question again those tears of Peter Clarke's at Doncaster.
I agree with what Ron has done but what gets to me is that no-one knows the facts yet still go aroud cursing each player who hasn't signed a contract. My view is that Bailey realised that he is the best player at the club and (probably on the advice of his agent) wants his wages to replicate that fact. Ron didn't take kindly to the fact that his players wanted to dictate their wages and placed them on the transfer list.
Its easy to say Bailey is a money grabbing **** and he thinks that he is bigger than the club but no-one knows if this is the case.

I think they were genuine to be honest because he clearly enjoys being here and was very disappointed not to be promoted. By all accounts he is now very settled in the area too. I don't think we should be criticising players for being insincere to be honest and I honestly believe that he, at any rate, will stay, presuming the club will allow him to.

Don't see him getting offered a contract with improved terms. If I was Ron I'd be rewareding the players that know what the word loyalty means.
Its true though. If my employer came to me after a year and said Hey sam you've being doing really well this year logging onto and contributing at regular intervals on ShrimperZone and we want to hand you this P45.
I never doubted them at the time, but I know others did. I hope you're right and I look forward to the public eating of humble pie by any of those transfer listed because of contract negotiations falling through.
Corrected for a slightly more accurate scenario.
It's him that decides whther he stays or not with his wage demands. Back to the club being held to ransom again. If he is asking for more than the substantially bigger pay packet that he is offered and the club can't afford it or don't think he is worth it, then what can they do? Can't risk losing him on a free in a year's time. If HE wants to stay, then HE needs to lower his wage demands.
When did I say it wasn't about the money?? I'm not defending Bailey here I'm just saying it annoys me when people don't know the whole story but find it perfectly ok to blame everyone.Good old agent. What does an agent know about footballing talent?! If money isn't the reason that Bailey didnt sign a contract then I would LOVE to know what it.
yea BUT if ron still wants to progress, and knowing the rate of how money is going in football know days Ron must know that in order to progress he is going to have to pay up.
It's a vicious circle. A club like this, £5m in debt and not likely to see finances improving till we go up and move to FF, will have a wage budget. Unfortunately, that has to be worked within to keep the club in good shape. We know what happened last time the club stopped doing that. Nearly went out of business. I am pretty sure that RM offered Bailey and Clarke what he could in line with the wage budget. In fact, if anything, he probably offered a little more than he should have done. Either that, or Clarke and Bailey demanded wages which would have blown the wage budget out of the water, and as much as I'm sure the club would like to do that, they can't, and RM probably knows that he can get replacements who are just as good on lower wages.
Yea i see what ya saying....but we wont be able to stay in the championship and without sounding too optomistic maybe trying to gohigher our average wage needs to be higher than like 1.5k! and considering there our best players trying to replace them is going to cost money most likely and they are going to want around the same wages bailey, clarke and franno have asked for.

In my opinion thats our 3 best players from last season. Gutted.
