Whilst I'm sure the majority of Southend fans behaved well there's always going to be a few that acted out of order. Saying this, those wooden seats were not adequate enough to seat people. Not condoning it if some people did deliberately rip seats up but why hasn't that section got modern seats?

My seat kept getting stuck but from the looks of some of the seats it wouldn't take much for them to break.

No point, as they'll only get ripped out

Why has our east stand got tiny seats decades old? We dont smash them up ?

Same thing happened at Aldershot......whole row of seating was ripped from there fittings by rowdy Southend fans mostly over 50 years old....all they done was put bums on seats and away they came. They were the lucky ones that got to the seating having ducked the low iron girders that were head high to Russ Williamson!

Seats were very flimsy it must be said and lets face it some of our fans have more than a spare tyre round the old belly, wouldnt take much to break them. Saying that, there did seem to be a higher amount of nobheads than normal, probably too much fizzy pop on the way to the ground and watching too many Danny Dyer films.

Checking round my house having read through this thread.
1- Up stairs TV not working well since switch over.
2- Scratch on living room table
3- Toilet push button keeps getting stuck in now and then

Lenny/Trueblue can you please come round and give above items a good kicking, go at TV with a hammer if needed.
This has to be done because I am sure these items will not be good enough to pass your quality inspection test.
Thanks in advance.

And in all that time you had whilst checking round your house, this is all you could come up with as a joke/dig

Poor as per usual

True. But we've been "looking to move stadium" for the past 10 years at least. There wouldn't be much point spending money on doing that stand up if we're moving in a couple of years.

Of course we know now that it's more than a couple of years.

We'll only bring 1400 at the most? have a laugh, we took 1200 in the non event of that carling cup game... Roughly that sold already and they havent gone on general sale.

And ironic we've apparently got a lot West Ham fans going to our games.... Last time I looked your town has more West Ham than Southend United.. And last time I looked our club even going from the boardroom dont like them or welcome them... Friday nights..?

The more of you that turn up the better....we need the cash.
Also you get to see what a real crowd is like...we .might even treat you with a song about yer seats!

Based on that, 2400 would be 2/3rds of their home attendance....that aint happening!!!! They are a club in decline, not wanted by their own community with an attendance dropping year on year, once Wet Spam take over the Olympic Stadium their days will be numbered.

is this to be celebrated ?

the first thing I'm going to do when I next go to Roots Hall is kick something until it falls apart after all by your rationale, if it ain't up to scratch then the club can't moan if I criminally damage it. By the way, if it was deliberate criminal damage and you were on cctv, there is a good chance you could be nicked - just saying.

talking of the fizzy pop, no one has mentioned the pub that got trashed near wanstead flats.

I am still waiting for someone to confirm they saw with their own eyes, our fans deliberately ripping up the seats, like the "hooligans" they are...

So 62 seats got damaged out of the 1,775 we occupied. Unfortunate, but is it really worth this hyperbole?

For the record I was not in attendance. So perhaps should not be commenting on the matter. But from what I have seen on various social media platforms, it was a case of OTT celebrations, tinged with a little bit of "sillyness" by standing on seats, which clearly are not meant for that.

I take it nobody has seen the amount of damaged seats in the North bank over the last few seasons, courtesy of the away fans?....Bet they weren't bitching about it on their forums like on here.

If proof is shown that our fans were deliberately ripping up these seats. Then I agree that is way out of line. Until then, surely we have better things to be discussing?......Like I don't know, a classic smash and grab victory last night on the pitch?

Shame you can only take 400 to brentford

Well, that's not what I implied is it?

It's the clubs fault for not making sure a seat is safe if someone sits on it and it breaks. If someone keeps kicking It then yes, that's wrong but I thinks fair few weren't damaged through abuse.
