actually think we will take more than you took last night, personally. From what i remember youve never had great away support. Heard there were a lot of hammers in there last night and 1600 isnt that many really.
We took just under 1800 acording to your site, if that stand holds 3700 it looked more than half full to me . If i was you i would worry about your home support or lack off it

I actually thought you was a sensible away supporter, until you wrote this. For a start, our away support and numbers is always being praised by other clubs and supporters, and if it wasn't on the Tele, there would have been many more last night.
Secondly, taking all ages into account, probably about 1 in 20 of ours also support Sham. My 2 Orient supporting friends have always admitted to me that almost half of your lot support West Ham. Understandable, as it's so close. So, pot/kettle own goal on that One.

This news has devastated me. I dread to think of our reputation now amongst the tens of people, the length and breadth of our country, that will be effected by this

I can see it now, in dingy pubs & back alley dwellings, people will speak in hushed tones and pass on the warning of the Southend chair smashing brigade.

RIP Orient seat backs xx

This really made me laugh. The days a re long gone where we had West Ham, Arsenal and Spurs fans following us on a Friday night. I doubt there are any West Ham fans that also follow Southend, the hatred is too great. I would suggest that it is your crowd that was made up of such fans, otherwise how do you explain the increase in attendance. As for great support, we always bring numbers to Orient, i can remember a few years back selling out our seat allocation and having to be allocated on half the terracing behind one of the goals. The official number given last night was 1755, yet there were not too many empty seats so could have been more, where were all the home fans?????? You may well bring similar to our place, but then most of you live in Essex so not far to travel. I would suggest that due to last nights result and the chance it will be on Sky, you may not actually bring as many as first thought.

You are kidding? There are still loads of supporters who follow both and this hatred is one way, West Ham fans couldnt give a monkeys about Southend.

What if they do something different and throw something through my window walking to the ground, or key some cars around the ground ?

Can you replace those too ?

All vandalism is pathetic and whilst we shouldnt make mountains out of molehills condoning bad behaviour isnt right when it can affect the reputation of our club.

Zero Tolerance of criminal behaviour. Lets not try to find flimsy excuses.

Ah....it's Lenny "I hope he breaks a leg" SUFC bringing us more wisdom and glorious insight to the human mind.
"If you don't like it "turn a blind eye"....it's the stuff of legend. It's a philosophy of life that will serve us all well - not. One can only imagine the extra effort a few among the Orient fans will make back at the Hall to reciprocate the deep appreciation of their seats by some of our mindless eeediots. Of course you say "The seats were too flimsy and they should have been strong enough to take the wanton abuse - it's all Orients fault - nuffin' to do wiv us! The comments made by some on these forums give little room for optimism for our society. They say to us "get a life!" well, I have a life - and I have a desire to live in my home town without having to deal with small minded, behaviourally incompetent, conflict specialists who have no idea how to handle people who think differently - other than abuse them, or make stupid justifications for unjustifiable behaviour. I fear we will have more seats to replace than Orient have - but we only have ourselves, or rather the mindless few, to blame.

So out of all the posts on here you're pulling me up?

Honestly build a bridge and get over it. What is done is done. Nothing we can do about it..

I didn't break any seats last night, but honestly who cares? No one was injured in the process!

Something good needs to come out of this. Let's burn/mould the seats into an El Chavico Ashes type urn, my vote is for a Reebok Classic

Deluded we have one of the best followings in league 2!!!!

I know many Southend fans and there were plenty of blues fans there I don't recall many faces I did not know at all!

You won't bring more then 1400 FACT

Push views on vandalism to one side, is'nt it just embarassing ? Really cringeworthy.

My trips away have witnessed bizarre and consitent embarassing behaviour from our fan base that I don't do away games any more.

They could bring 2400 and fill the away end I couldn't give a toss to be honest as long as we get the right result on the night it will be a horrible albeit a short journey home for them knowing that they lost to a small league 2 team, but we are going to have to be at our best to get the right result.
I'm sure we will have more home fans turning up for the 2nd league and it should bring in some welcomed revenue to the club.

Well they can stay out of Roots Hall, lol. Ive been going for 34 years and have sat in the east stand for many of those and of the loyal group that ive know for a long time, none are west ham fans, so loads may be an exaggeration, a few maybe.

So. Did anyone witness any of our fans "deliberately" vandalising the seats last night?

Just throwing this one out there.

Based on that, 2400 would be 2/3rds of their home attendance....that aint happening!!!! They are a club in decline, not wanted by their own community with an attendance dropping year on year, once Wet Spam take over the Olympic Stadium their days will be numbered.

I rest my case !

Why do I pull you up ? Well, perhaps because your posts (re: broken chairs and broken legs) typify the philosophy of life that do more harm to society than you can imagine. Note: I say typify...I do not hold you (alone) personally responsible. Well, not yet anyway :-)

Build a bridge ? As a former Civil Engineer I know you can only build bridges if the foundations of said bridge are good and reliable and trustworthy and behave appropriately. So, I am trying to build the bridges, but not by avoiding the need to address unsuitable foundation material. Your comments (but not only yours) typify the type of thought process that does not build decent society. Who cares ? I do !

From broken seats to mending society......not bad

well Dagger only get 1800 home fans on average and they bring 800 to us which would be havalf their home crowd,my point is I don't care if they bring 1 or 1000 or 2000 as long as we get the result the smug feeling I had leaving the ground last night will be even bigger and better in a couple of weeks time :winking:

On T.V the stand looked at least 2/3 full. I would'nt mind betting there were 500+ pay on the gate Shrimpers. Are'nt Orient a tiny club given their catchment area. Spose if they wer'nt they would be able to afford seating that could withstand the robust usage of the average away fan......... And on another note if the broken seating was'nt up to being stood upon when we scored, then, is'nt that a health and safety issue ?.......If any Shrimpers were hurt when seats collapsed they could try and sue.

This. although very inconvenient I'm sure the vandalism isn't the end of the world for orient and I really doubt it'll seriously harm our reputation, nor did it ruin my night.
The issue I have is what on earth makes people do it?! I can't get my head around why you would celebrate a win by kicking a plastic seat, it doesn't make you look hard and it doesn't look particularly enjoyable (could be wrong here) what is the point? This wont make me lose any sleep but the sight of 20 or so kids jumping around going '****ing mental' definitely made me cringe a bit more than I'd like to after a great away win.

ps the whole well bring more fans than you thing is also cringeworthy
