Sadlers Farm - seriously ? This is the best it can be managed ?

Thought I'd go via Sadlers Farm today to see how they were getting on (as I was working in Kent), took 45 minutes to get from Fairglen to the sadlers roundabout at 9:00AM this morning. Coming back wasn't too bad but I did get there early (around 3:15PM) but that was still queuing from the Pitsea flyover.

Thought about using the a12 myself but remember that being a nightmare at the best of times.
I've been going A12 > A130 > Rawreth Lane, and then backroads through Rayleigh to Leigh for the last 2 weeks. It's by far the best option right now.

Was awful tonight, tailbacks well back further than the 5 bells. Cut across Basildon and A127 was a parking lot till Rayleigh Weir.

Cant even work from home this week....

Went to Lakeside about 20 past 4, queue was back past 5 Bells then. Came back around quarter to 7 and tail lights just ahead of 5 Bells exit so turned off and took scenic tour through Bas and had something to eat before heading home. Absolutely ludicrous.

Got the train from grays to pitsea tonight, it took 20 minutes. Journey from Pitsea to Benfleet by car took 45 minutes

Why don't you travel from Benfleet to Grays? I do to Tilbury, it's a piece of ****.

From today I am doing this. The annoyance is that you have to change trains at pitsea during rush hour. After I've waited for the train and arrived at benfleet I've added 20 minutes to the journey. However this is better than sadlers farm at the moment

The 0722 from Benfleet goes round the loop, I think that may be the last direct train before 0900hrs.

Pretty grim tonight by all accounts. Heard a traffic report on Essex Radio around 5.40 p.m., that the queue to Sadlers was back to Stanford Le Hope?

Certainly was. I got to the end of the tailback at about 5:50. Got hom at 7:15. Awesome.

Ive been told that the contractors are now working 24/7 this week on laying tarmac for the northbound underpass hoping to get that open for Monday.

Hopefully this will ease the traffic jam in the evenings.

I know I moan about this every day but its so depressing knowing you cant get home without sitting in a massive traffic jam. As it was pointed out at the beginning of this thread, despite my name I dont like them much ! Cant use the A127 as thats snarled up too, even considered using the A12 which isnt a great road anyway, but coming from south of the bridge most nights that would be a massive detour.

Southend to sheerness as the crow flies is 7 miles. Wonder why no one has ever thought of running a ferry

I think the best thing that can be said about is that it's different.... Civil society ends at benfleet and the world gets progressively worse the further up the A13 you travel

Thats a strange statement coming from a bloke who has previously stated "I WOULD NOT HAVE A PROBLEM BEING A NEIGHBOUR OF TRAVELLERS" and was full of praise for the ex Dale Farm residents.

Carnage today, queues this morning way, way back up Bread and Cheese Hill as I walked (yes, I walked today!) in. Tonight it was already pretty static heading along the A13 westbound when I left at half 4. It's particularly bad at the moment as they've narrowed Tarpots approach to single lane either way along the A13.

Superb,i left East ham at 5pm and home in 15mins to Corringham, lifes a breeze in non civil land.:raspberry:

You not really one for humour are you steveo? :stunned: Don't worry i'm still 'team traveller'. It's londoners i can't stand, they're the real blot on the Essex landscape :thump:

Keep your traveller whingeing to another thread, this is MY Sadlers Farm whingeing thread.

For the record today I drove up to the A12 and came home that way, despite it being stationary at the M25 I still managed to get home half hour quicker. Shame it adds about 25 miles to my journey...

Off to a job in Norfolk tomorrow so will be spared the mayhem. Driving 220 miles round trip actually a better prospect than coming home via Sadlers!

Daily whinge over.
