Sadlers Farm - seriously ? This is the best it can be managed ?

I work in London and live a 200 metre walk from Benfleet station so this hasn't inconvenienced me at all.

I highly recommend you drive to Pitsea to experience the awesomeness of it.

On Friday I opted to go out after work at the 02 rather than go home and get stuck. Its going to be a long couple of months methinks.

The project is due to be completed by late May. This is now the accepted finish date, although i'm not sure why the website still says April.

Late May is what I was assuming with the amount of work still to do.

Fantastic as the week after that Im on holiday.

Still will be worth it when its done.

Whats all the fuss about?. I left leigh on sea at 07.55 this morning, and cleared Sadlers by 08.25. The radio reports were giving gridlock on the A127 back to tescos near the Bell!. Am posting this from the Southern riviera at Port Solent near Portsmouth.

Try driving London - Benfleet at around 6pm.

Normally it takes me 35 minutes to get from the M25 to Southend. At the moment it takes 25 minutes at least just to get from 5 Bells to Sadlers farm.

I see that they have opened one of the bridges this morning, the one that runs from the roundabout over to northbound A130. What effect that will have we can only guess, Id assume little for now.

A route served by the best performing train operator in the country. My sympathy is in rather short supply.

Thats great if you work in central london. I dont. If that best train operator in the country can drive across the QE2 bridge Id be delighted.

Im sure those trains are great for anyone who needs a van too.

I spend my week flitting between clients, datacentres and my office. A car is essential.

When I left just after 8 this morning there was free flowing traffic on the A13 around Tarpots so hopefully things maybe are beginning to improve.

Well I came home in an emergency on Wednesday and to try to get home a bit faster used A127, big mistake. Tailbacks from Dunton to Rayleigh.

Not been to work today and not going in tomorrow so shall see how it is Monday.

Not expecting any improvements for a while yet.

Will be worth it in the end. Will be worth it in the end. Repeat.

So what will be the end result after the works are done?

See the link I posted earlier in the thread Tony. A130 southbound will flow directly onto the A13 west, likewise the A13 eastbound will flow directly onto the A130 north. Canvey will have dedicated roads on and off, that link directly to the A13 further west of Sadlers. The A13 between Sadlers and Pitsea will become 4 lane carriageways on each side. The bridge to the crematorium is/has been replaced to accommodate this wider road. Sadlers itself will revert back to one, large single roundabout.

And yet Canvey Way is still a single carriageway...

Came through Sunday evening AROUND 8.30PM NO PROBLEM AT ALL
With all due respect, there wouldn't be any likelihood of a problem at that sort of time! You want to try it around 7.30 in the morning especially after they've been tinkering with the roundabout overnight and haven't got all the lanes/roads re-opened on time!

It has been a lot easier lately but that is because a huge percentage of previous users are now seeking alternative routes meaning the A127 has been carnage almost every morning this week, with several serious accidents as well. There is still a huge amount of work to be done and goodness knows what will happen when the Sadlers Boot Sale is due to re-open in a couple of weeks time......prepare for even more chaos on a Saturday I expect! There is still regular night time work going on from the direction of the A130, but nearer to the actual intersection now, I expect they will try to open that dedicated slip first.

As we've said earlier in this thread, last day of Spring is June 20th....that is when I expect it to be open.

In the morning I come down the A127 and then use Pound Lane to get to the A13.

On the way home is still just as bad though, tailbacks to the Five Bells every evening and takes about 30 minutes to get to Sadlers Farm. I tried the A127 last week and that was a nightmare as far back as Dunton until Raleigh Weir.
