I think it’s more likely Ron uses the deadline to dangle over a prospective buyer: you want to buy the club with or without a points deduction? After all the club is already for sale for £1, it’s value can’t really go down.

You may well be right YB. But two can play at that game, can't they? The buyer can always walk away unencumbered, if they don't get the deal they want.

I think he might get the 10 point penalty it could mean any buyer may say because you cant keep your house in order We want a massive reduction in the asking price .As you have doomed the club .

Without wishing to be pedantic, doesn’t the statement say that the points deduction applying if any new creditors are not paid, is effective at any time during the 2023/24 season? I know it’s not much but the extra 5 days of wriggle room (next Monday to Saturday Aug 5th), may be significant in terms of the financing of staff salaries for July actually happening.
