Loved Marcia Ball's name check for Bobby Charles and great playing on Party Time. For those who don't know, Bobby Charles is one of the great unsung talents of R and B.He wrote See you later Alligator and Walking to New Orleans,as well as making and singing on a host of fine albums in his own right.

The Waterboys played a great gig this evening at a new seated live music venue in Barcelona, the Teatre Coliseum, as part of Barcelona's annual(23rd)Guitar Festival. Not many groups would have the balls to set Yeats poetry to music and the ability to get away with it too.
Great concert!

The Boss was in Barcelona last night for the second night of his Wrecking Ball tour here.I don't usually have a lot of time for big stadium rock gigs(The Olympic stadium in Montjuic in this case,Espanyol's temporary home for 11 years)but I'm prepared to make an exception for Springsteen.Great gig as always. If you've got tickets for the UK leg of his tour, you're in for a treat.

Excellent as always.Unfortunately no Gary Brooker(as in the video, or Albert Lee)as when I saw them last here at Luz de Gaz.Nor even the excellent Beverley Skeete(who's on my ticket stub)only to be replaced by the even better Madeline Bell, who I've been a fan of since Melting Pot days but never seen live until now.If you've got a ticket to see them in London on the 21 st June after this short 3 day tour of Spain you're in luck.

Great R and B concert here last night, at what for me was a new venue, the Salamandra 2 in Hospitalet.Highlight of the set was undoubtedly a Blues acoustic medley by Dick Taylor(excellent throughout. He must have taught Keith Richards quite a few licks in his time) on slide and (rather cheesey)vocals by Phil May on Muddy Water's, I Can't be Satisfied and Robert Johnson's, Come into my Kitchen.

The Australian Pink Floyd are in Southend again next year, on a tour celebrating the 40th anniversary of the release of the greatest album in history

Once again they clash with a Blues game (earlier this year they were here the same night as Cheltenham were dicked 4-0) as i couldn't see that show i went to London and so had to forego what transpired to be Freds debut

I fully expect an 8-0 win at Underhill on 26th February seeing as i won't be there

Saw his Bobness at Cap Roig(on the Costa Brava) last night. At 70, Dylan is still going strong, as this excellent set list shows.

Bought tickets to see Down in London on the 21st October, one of my favourite bands that I haven't seen live so I am really looking forward to it!

Went to 'Hard Rock Calling' at Hyde Park and thought Bruce Springstein was imense again with another set of three hours that would have been longer had the sound not been turned off at 10-40pm. To do this when his special guest Paul McCartney also on the stage with 80,000 people in the park was a completly reaction in my opinon.

Nina Nesbitt performed on the 'Rising' stage at Hard Rock Calling today, I saw her last night at The Borderline in London. Special guest appearance from Ed Sheeran, was very good in a small venue.

Good stuff, some noticeable absentees from the set list for me though Barna .. though accepting that if he did a set of his classics he's have to do an 8 hour show

If you check out the set lists on his current tour of Europe,
http://www.bobdylan.com/us/events
one of the noticeable features is how the songs change, pretty much every night.
Off to see the Beach Boys(with Brian Wilson)next week.Bring back the 60's.

If i were going i'd have to avoid that playlist thingy as its half the anticipation is whether a personal favourite is played during the set
