Went to the Cliffs last night for Queen Extravaganza. Was a decent effort. Certainly not the worst Queen tribute band I’ve seen.

And tonight I’m off to The Troxy for Jack White.

Went to Wembley Arena on Saturday night, (or as it’s better known, that ****ing Wembley Arena, due to the prices) and watched The Darkness.

Didn’t grow up as a fan, but went with a few who did & genuinely enjoyed it more than I was expecting. Drink prices aside, of course.

Saw Muireann Bradley aat Badalona's Blues & Ritmes fesitival last night .Excellent acoustic Blues Singer :Didn't Know she'd been on Jool's show til I read it in the progamme notes.

Gigs in Brazil. We were supposed to see Mike Reid last Thursday in Brazilia .Jazz guitarist ex -Blood ,Sweat & Tears and a former sideman to Miles Davis but for reasons to complicated to explain here we didn't go.

However we did see a good jazz jam session in Salvador's Jam not Bam festival and also an excellent Beatles tribiute band in Sao Paulo's Bourbon Street nighclub/pub.Apparently they played all but 2 of the tracks from Revolver.(At the risk of revealing my age) I can say they didn' t play George's Within you, wirhout you from Sergeant Pepper.
.Suppose I'll have to play Revolver again to remember the "missing"tracks :Winking:

Really enjoyed Ezre Collective a couple of weeks ago (Cross the Tracks festival). But nothings beats watching my son, third gig with singer/songwriter girlfriend(again Brixton way) ( last week.
My younger brother lived down in Brixton when he was first married:A place much better than it's rep I think (altho, his first wife was mugged there IIRC).

*Footnote the missing tracks off Revolver (that the Beatles tribute group didn't play that nighr, were George's Taxman & John's I'm Only Sleeping.

(At the risk of revealing my age) I can remember the RE teacher at Easwood HS. played Taxman during school assembly.Quite revolutionary for the time I suppose.
